Will the Rockets ever learn how to play defense? Will they ever learn to get a body on three point shooters that have been burning them all night? It seems like the Rockets never play defense until it is too late. Rudy needs to change that.

Well, the Rockets did it again. When they needed defense, they left a Nugget open for another 3. How many 3s do they have to make to get a damn clue. DON'T LEAVE GOOD SHOOTERS OPEN. DONT FOUL THREE POINT SHOOTERS. ESPECIALLY NOT VAN EXEL. This performance was a joke tonight, and they deserved to lose.
Say goodbye to any playoff hopes. If the Rockets can't beat Denver, why bother trying? This team has no chemistry on either end of the floor. They are a sad bunch to watch. It is quite clear that they are going to be like the Grizzlies for years to come, because they have shown ZERO improvement over the course of this season, especially when it comes to defense. They are just a losing team. Its as simple as that.

Then don't watch. I realize you are speaking out of frustration, but calling my team "losers" pisses me off. Yes, they lost tonight, but at least temper your remarks with a little fanaticism.

The Rockets do have some issues on defense. But the biggest problem that stuck out to me tonight was execution on the offensive end. Mobley, again, threw up some stupid shots, and the Rockets couldn't make a decent free throw percentage. If they would have made a good free throw percentage and executed better on the offensive end, the outcome would have been different I feel.

They ARE losers. 20-21 is the record. That is a LOSING record. After a 13-9 start, they have gone 7-12. After a 6-1 start at home, they have gone 3-9. They are a bad team. I will still watch, maybe the east will help them. I doubt it though. The record will be 20-22 after tomorrow, with only the Glizzlies to offer relief. I even have my doubts about them beating the Grizzlies! You know a team is bad if you can't feel comfortable when they play the Grizzlies.

One of the teams I coach is 1-2. I dare you to call them losers.

I know you are frustrated, but if it gets to you this bad, then DON'T WATCH! Jump on the Portland bandwagon, I here they have a winning record.

The funny thing is that their 4th quarter defensive rotations were GREAT until that last 3 by LaFrentz. I mean, I was actually cheering them for rotating well. On that play, Bullard had entered the game and when he went out to double Van Exel, LaFrentz, instead of rolling to the deep corner, stayed up high side and no one rotated on him.

I've said before that this team's greatest weakness is its defensive rotations. They have the speed but not the know how. Until they learn how to rotate well against offenses, they will suffer this fate.

BTW: WTF was that fling by Mobley that went off the side of the glass. Franchise was posting up and he ignored him to throw up a turn around, falling down 20 footer with a hand in his face???

Mobley is a cancer. He is not a go-to guy. He is a go-to little boy.

I was talking about PROFESSIONAL basketball. The Rockets are losers.

I'm talking about basketball fans. I've been a fan of the Rockets for 25 years. You can rant all you want, but when you get so blinded by frustration that you use words like losers or little boys, then you are not a fan anymore. You are just a whiny bandwagonner.

Go to Philly, they are winning right now.

It was pretty frustrating as I was watching Matt Bullard continue to run towards Van Exel, leaving Raef LaFrentz wide open, even though Francis had switched off and had Van Exel covered. It almost looked like it was a trap they were trying to set.

The Nuggets have been "rebuilding" for years now... the Rox are only in their 2nd year.

The Rox have enough talent to compete in the west I'd say, but as Jeff in a recent article said, it's YOUNG TALENT. Remember, Denver is a team that is ready & gearing up for the playoff run, as evidenced by the Kevin Willis trade. Think about it: Would the Rockets have traded for someone old & on his way down like Willis? No, of course not. This shows that they're still not ready nor are they totally preparing to make a huge playoff push. They still need more time, whereas Denver feels they are ready.

Rockets are still a young team that needs more experience (I know you're gettin tired of hearing this ZRB) & a few more pieces to the puzzle. Cato, one of the most important players on this team, is out. Langhi, who'll have a big impact next year, is not ready yet. Collier, who should also contribute well next year, is recovering from injury.

Bottom Line: This team IS improving. It's just that the improvements aren't as dramatic as you would like them to be. There are minor improvements, but there won't be a major improvement that you can immediately feel the impact on the game. It took the Kings 3 years to become a decent defending team. The rotations are getting better... it's just that last play where Bullard totally screwed up that makes you think that we're not improving one bit.

And as far as your Vancouver comment... it is not safe to play any team in the NBA now. The Grizz only lost by 1 to the Lakers in a game that was decided poorly by the refs. Just today, the Blazers only won by 4 against the Bulls. Yesterday, the Blazers got blown out by the Hornets.

What the **** does Mobley have to do?
Score 100 ****ing points on 100% shooting while grabbing 20 rebounds?

I thought that this is a Rockets BBS.

Your dumbass posts almost make as much sence as your signature.

1.) You want Cat to be passive.
2.) You want Cat to forget what Rudy tells him to do. Obviously Rudy tells him to take it or if Rudy didn't Cat's ass will be on the bench.
3.) You don't want Cat to take someone off the dribble. Kenny Smith said he is the best one-on-one player at his position in the league.
4.) You don't want Cat, a shooter, to shoot.

What the **** is Cat for?

First of all, I am not a bandwagoner. I wouldn't keep posting if I was. Secondly, the Kings made the playoffs. They were young, and they made the playoffs. The Rockets have plenty of talent, and inexperience in just an excuse. With such a "great" coach, experience should not be as big a deal as it would with other teams.

Mobley needs to take good shots, drive to the basket, and realize that there are 4 other players on the court at a particular time. He just shoots too much, and bloody Rudy supports him every time. If you guys can rip into Hakeem so much, I think I have a right to calll Mobley a "little boy". Experience-wise, he does not play like a 3rd year man. He plays like a cocky little street baller. Rudy needs to bench him when he plays so poorly.
I have seen Rudy bench Francis, but not Mobley. This is a serious problem. The Rockets have been up and down all year, how is that improving? Their defense has gotten WORSE! They never go to Mo. They never go to Hakeem (when he plays). They rarely even go to their star player. I have a right to criticize them. They are underacheiving.

Maybe they can win tomorrow and prove me wrong. I sure hope so.

    1) I want Cat to be passive when he is shooting like sh*t
    2) Cat will not be on the bench if he passes it out because he couldnt go anywhere
3)Cat shouldnt take anybody off the dribble. He should quit being cute, bobbing his head 20 times, and take the ball to the damn hole. That is when he is at his best.
    4) I dont want Cat, a shooter, to shoot when he is off like tonight.

C'mon, Cat could go 0-20 in the first 3 quarters but in the fourth could get 10-20 points easily.

Is there a target on Mobley's back that I can't see or something?

Yes, the Rockets are frustrating. They can play with anyone, lose to anyone. Their focus isn't always there.

And yet somehow this team is playing nearly .500 ball with no real frontcourt. Granted, Mo can play center: why not? He hits the outside shot, exactly what the Rockets need. But no Hakeem, no Cato. Impending trade to bring us a dominant power forward? Maybe, maybe not.

The team is incomplete and its game will be likewise until it fills the gaps. When big players fill those holes, we might have some chemistry issues (or might not). The Hakeem issue has to be resolved.

So, let's just take a deep breath. We just don't have a team on the floor capable of really competing in the West.

Put us in the East, with no centers, and we'd rule. But that's not the story.

We're trying to win with what we have. When your roster is depleted to the point when you have to worry about Matt Bullard's defense at crunch time, then you're sucking major hind tit.

The Rockets have a very easy schedule coming up, but they have always refused to take advantage of easy games. I hope that Hakeem will blend in well tomorrow. Despite all the problems, he is still an experienced legend. Maybe he will bring some consistency and stability. He could have some big games with all those eastern "centers" coming up.
