This was truly unbelievable how could these Rockets fans vote for Bullard over Thorpe. I look it at 3 ways, 1. the fans were just joking around to get Bullard farther along, Then obvisously they are not true fans. 2. Fans are just clowning around voting from Bullard. 3. The fans who voted for Bullard have no knowledge of the game so therefore are excused from being called real bball fans. Anyone who voted for Bullard is saying thorpe never did anything for the Rockets and I take that as a slap in the face to all Otis Thorpe fans. I understand over Rice but over Thorpe come on get real.

Maybe they voted based on more than just play. Maybe they love what Bull meant. They love how nice of a guy he was. They thought he acted as every nba player should?

    go Air Bull!

That is pretty dumb. Thorpe was a bad ass and I am sure he made the all-star team once or twice. I love Bullard, but OT could socre, reb and play defense. Bullard cant even create his own shot.

i'm just saying maybe it's about more than playing ability.. maybe it's who you thought represented the rockets the best etc.

if it was just about playing ability the might as well have just narrowed it down to 4 to begin..

besides bullard turned down more money and a chance at a championship ring with the lakers because he wanted to stay here. go bull

I agree. Plus, if this is a one-on-one tournament...I honestly think Bull would have a really good chance of beating OT. I mean, OT was better on a team and helped us out so much, but with Bull's shot and superior ball handling.....Bull wins!

I loved the way that OT used to palm the ball after a rebound and then fire out a one handed baseball-throw pass downcourt to a streaking Maxwell or Smith.

BUT...OT never had his own song. 'Nuff said!

If the goal was simply to vote for the best player then there would be no reason to have the "tournament" since Hakeem is clearly the greatest Rocket of all time with respect to stats, personal achievements and team achievements.

Maybe he could beat OT, but I'd like to see Bullard beat Glen Rice one-on-one--not happening.

I seriously hope you are being sarcastic. Tell me you dont really think Bull has "superior ball handling" skills. OT would post up on Bulls butt and score a hundred points before Bull even gets the ball.

umm anyone see that Griffin(52%)is beating Rudy T(48%)?

Come on Guys help Rudy T.

No disrespect to Griffin - but Rudy T is Mr. Rocket. He is the mayor of Rocketsville. :)

Has anyone kept up with Rocketsville lately? What a joke it's become. I can't wait to hear what Calvin Murphy says during the next game if he is getting beat by Bullard. How does Bullard keep pulling off these huge upsets?

it is an issue of sentimental favoritism. just look at eddie griffin beating out rudy tomjanovich. he hasn't even played an entire season yet and he gets that win? its because he represents the hope this team brings to its fans, which is the only reason many are holding on right now.

He knew we were going after Rice. Rudy helped him get a job with Charlotte. He wasnt stuck anywhere.

Bullard is beating Calvin Murphy so badly, I have to suspect a computer glitch. This matchup is so ridiculous. I don't care how much you like the Bull, voting for him over Calvin Murphy is a travesty of justice.

Yeah, I think Calvin made a call to the Rockets.com people and couldn't believe Bullard was beating that badly. I bet he makes some sort of comment about it during the Rockets game tongiht.

    I voted for Air Bull.

When I went to vote like an hour after the Calvin/Bull matchup opened for voting, Air Bull already was ahead by like 3000 votes.

It has to be a glitch then. How are 3000 people going to vote for Bull in a span of one hour?!?!?!

Anyone know if Bull is a computer genius? He might be doing all this stuff himself. :D

rockets03.. actually i think he was sure he'd stay here. or he would not have turned down the laker's offer. i think the whole rice situation came about late in the free agency time period..

which is why i think rudy and the rockets helped him get a job in charlotte because they felt sorry that he turned down lakers etc and then they ended upnot signing him
