Now that we a little more than halfway thru the first round alot of reality is startin to slap me dead in the face.......

Our rocks have looked terrible minus game 5 and we still lead the series 3-2......that is to me a very good sign that we are probably the better team in this series........i havent seen the rockets who played all year yet in this series where luther, juwan, rafe, and the rest of the gang are hittin there looks on a consistent basis and we are still winnin

that makes me think if we played like the rockets who finished the season winning 6 of the last 7 games and took homecourt......we would probably be done with the jazz by now....thought the jazz have givin us a great series thus far......very tough and physical team who will be a load in the years to come

but all in all.......we should(big should) take this series......even if it takes us to game 7(which it probably will) with close games yao and t-mac are to tough to beat

that bein said on the flip side we have the warriors in the same boat..........they are head and shoulders manhandlin the so callled best team in the NBA...........the mavs got lucky last night becuz they were done in that game until dirk finally decided to show up for the series....kinda like luther and juwan did us last night........that being said it goes back to oakland where the warriors will likely close them out or back in dallas.......i dont see dallas winning 2 against this team which i say is playin like the 1 seed and dallas is the 8........dallas is a deer in headlights in this series and it is NO FLUKE MY FRIENDS

so to get to the point is this a blessing or disguise?

it sounds great like "YEAAAA!!!!! THEY KNOCKED OFF THE MAVS AND WE GET THEM IN THE 2ND ROUND"..........but in all actuality i am terrified of that teams athletisism............the jazz are givin us fits with there athletisism.....and the warriors make them look slow

sayin all that to say this.......it seems like magically somebody in the rocks organization reads this board.....players, coaches, front office..i dont know who, but someone does......and this bbs is hands down the BEST board in the world so please fellow bbs'ers.........start rackin your brains now and when this series is over.............give them feedback on how the heck we are gonna adjust against the warriors

i am putting the cart way before the horse..but if we somehow get past them and get a western conference final against phoenix or SA........i feel like we can really do something special

    HEY
    I CAN DREAM........ CAN'T I!!!!!!!!!!

This has jinx written all over it. How about we wait for BOTH series to be done before we go crowning who's the better team? Lock it up, PLEASE.

I will enjoy being up 3-2 until game 6 but nothing more. After they win, then I'll enjoy them advancing but not till that last second ticks off the clock and the Rockets are ahead in the score board

to answer you question quickly about the warriors i see a few trends.

Golden State is on a mission to beat dallas, not to win the championship. The interconnected relationships between the two teams helps ignite that fire.

There will no none of that in round 2 for Golden State.

All 3 times in playoff history a 60 win team lost in the first round, the team that beat them went on to lose in the second round.

Dallas doesn't have a low post presence to pound it into like Yao Ming, when Dirk started going to the basket, Golden State started floundering. Secondly we have 2 guys in Hayes and Battier that will make driving to the lane a perilous task for players like Barnes, Davis, Ellis and Richardson. The charge calls will be flying. Finally our overall and team defense is considerably better than Dallas, i think we would frustrate them, they will lose their focus and confidence and we advance.

All that being said i feel Golden State lost a HUGE opportunity in game 5. I kinda have the feeling that it is over for the Warriors after blowing a 9 point lead with 3 minutes left. If Golden State wins, they will win it in game 6. If they lose game 6, Dallas will be on a 2 game win streak going into a 1 game winner take all game in Dallas. I think the Mavs would just punish them in that game. Thus all the pressure is for Golden State to clinch at home in game 6. Thats why we are so lucky having game 7 at home.

We still need to beat Utah and that hasn't been easy in Utah. I think we will prevail because they probably overvalue their home court, much like the Warriors also might do the same.

Its gonna be a Super Thursday.

The questions should be...what do you fear more?

A run-and-gun GS team with nothing to lose and lots of confidence...?

or a championship caliber Dallas team that just made a miraculous comeback and won 3 in a row?

I think I will take my chances with GS, thanks...

Great post. I think what happened with GS success was because dall-ass's transition wasn't up to par, or just sorry. That game last night was literally a pickup game, with the fast-breaks and the jack up a 3 action. The rox can definitely stop the ball on these guys and make them scramble into a weak halfcourt team. With them playing Biedrins and Foyle in extensive minutes at the 5, Yao and Deke will be the key factors in eating these guys alive.

Oh, and that's a big IF about any of this hoopla about us playing against GS, since Dallas will get their mojo back on thursday. I don't want to jinx anything with us advancing, but when we do, I would rather play the mavs.

I'd take a tired mavs team over a hot warriors team whose playing like they don't give a F' any day of the week.

I think the jinx was in when Tmac said Dallas was down 3-1 and GS had basically won it. We all know those proclamations from Tmac end badly.

I DON'T KNOW.......they front yao and take him totally out of the game.....we all know that our entry passes into the post from our guards sometimes leave alot to be desired at times

they give us just as many fits as they give the mavs........we just guard the paint better

not tryin to jinx by the way....i just feel like we will win...my own little humble opinion............i have beeen wrong many years with the rocks....unfortunately

no but really i am not proclaimin we win just we have a good chance with homecourt the way the series is turnin out........everyone is holdin serve thus far

and i will def be at game 7 if that happens!!!!!!

Did everyone miss this part of the post where jshabang thinks that JVG looks to ClutchFans for his gameplan? If that were the case V-SPAN would have been starting in game 5, Snyder would have taken a bunch of minutes away from Battier and Howard, and we would be down 3-2.
