Look this the way I see it. CD let the Pistons, Magic deal go down (Give Houston 18 after deadline) due to the fact a deal is in the works with Houston Chicago, Detroit, and Orlando. A Four Team deal is necessary. Houston, Chicago, and Detroit are all under the cap. I see Cato leaving from The Rockets, Miller and maybe Fizer leaving from the bulls,Outlaw and Doleaq from The Magic;and Stackhouse from the Pistons. The Only thing I see is that Picks being Swap and Houston picking up the #4 pick from Chicago but I dont think Chicago wants to go no further than #9! That's where I see Detroit comes into play! I KNOW for fact that CD had long discussions with Joe Dumars. All these teams are willing to deal with Houston cause the Rox are out west. Lets see where's this headed. ------------------ David Wood and Tree Rollins was the best duo in the NBA!
may I ask how do you know that CD had a long discussion with Dumars ? ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
ToogqisBack is really The Rocket Guy. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Accepting the premise of your information, I am confused by which players and draft choices go where in this 4-team deal. ------------------

Stern: With the 4th pick in the 2001 NBA draft The Houston Rockets select......... ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Lil Francis - i think we might hear this phrase as well: "We have a trade..." ------------------ "You couldn't have stuck a pin up his @#! with a jackhammer. Yeah, I'd say he was pretty tight." -- Barkley on Minnesota's Chris Carr(thx RocksMillenium)after he missed a game winning free-throw.
My God I can't wait until the draft is over. Too many trade talks... getting dizzy... It seems like more people post in the off-season than while the Rockets are actually playing. Strange... ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." It's back... Protrolls.com!
How do the Rockets give up the least (about a million times less than Detroit) and still end up with the best return (4th pick)? ------------------
Guys, are we setting ourselves up for disappointment here ? I'll be happy if we just use the 3 draft picks correctly. With the core we already have (steve, cat, mo ?) if we add three athletes, we can be a very deep, athletic team. I don't know if things will be different with the new rules (something tells me the NBA will change back), but you can never have too many athletes. But, most have speculated that it is VERY unlikely that we keep all 3 picks, so maybe a trade is in order. Let's hope it's a good one. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
You are assuming that Orlando wasn't considering an offer from Houston over Detroit, but we decided to just let it go. We would definitely let it go if we ever thought Vanc was asking too much for their #6. I could also see us letting it go if Orl was asking too much from us, and thus through extension, making the #6 too expensive. I don't think all reports are in about this deal.
Here's how it could go down: Houston trades: 13th Overall Pick $0 to Chicago Houston trades: 23rd Overall Pick $0 to Detroit Houston trades: 18th Overall Pick $0 to Chicago TOTAL: $0 Detroit trades: 37th Overall Pick $0 to Houston Detroit trades: Jerry Stackhouse $5,000,000 to Chicago TOTAL: $5,000,000 Chicago trades: Ron Artest $1,160,760 to Detroit Chicago trades: 4th Overall Pick $0 to Houston Chicago trades: Elton Brand $3,629,160 to Detroit TOTAL: $4,789,920 TRADE ACCEPTED Detroit gets: Brand Artest #23 pick Houston gets: #4 and #37 pick Chicago gets: Stackhouse #13 and #18 pick ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Or how about: Detroit gets: #13 Brand Artest Houston gets: #4 #37 Chicago gets: Stackhouse #9 #18 ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Detroit would get the best of this deal. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
What the...!!?? You are telling Stackhouse is worth giving up the #4, Artest and Brand? Think!! Think before you hit that "Submit Reply" button!! ------------------ "Bada Bing!"
How many MVP votes, all league votes or all star votes (coaches not McDonald's visitors) did Brand and Artest get? Stack got plenty of all of them. ------------------
