After we lost to the mavs they said we have a bright future and that next year would be the year. Then we go to the lottery. Last year was supposed to be the year we finally have homecourt and we lose game 7 at home. Now this year was the year we get franchise back and this was supposed to be the year. Now everyone is saying next year is our year. Its not over this we need to win this year. Next year doesn't matter cause if that was the case it would always be next year.

I bet my friend 10 dollars saying that Yao or Tmac will get injured, +10 if both....but I'm sincerely hoping that we have a great season next year. Something that proves to be more long-term than the 22 win streak.

    It all depends on injuries.

These games with Utah have been close without Yao, Alston, and a banged up landry. Next year, add a tall shooter (mike miller type), and wash up the firetrucks for the parade.

Believe it or not, next year will be better. RA's 2nd year, assume Yao will be healthy, good FA signing, everybody buys into the system. It's not just the cliche.

We wont win a championship with Tmac

I think by the time he retires he might be able to advance to the 2nd year rather is next year or the next but that's it.

    Just remember the ratio.

No one can come to Houston and rise any faster than Dream did.

    Our moment is coming.

T-Mac can't carry a team. If Yao's the centerpiece and T-Mac can play off of him the Rockets could do well.

Put it in this way and you might accept it: If you do not expect next year, what else left for you to expect this year? Then we say 'next year'

+we dont have Yao and Rafer this year. :)

I too, am tired of next year, but what choice do we have. When your best player goes down with a stress fracture in the middle of a 22 game winning streak you really dont have a choice but to hope it all comes together next year.

This team is well constructed and can win. They just need to stay to stay healthy.

I don't want to give up believing in Houston, but it's very easy to when every year Yao and TMac get injured. It's so aggravating. We all know that we would have done much better in the Playoffs if we had somebody else that could grab rebounds and guard the paint. That's the big thing we are missing. How would Utah be playing right now if they didn't have Deron or Boozer? Exactly, we would be beating them with the team we have now. When are we ever going to have a healthy team for an entire season?!?!?!?! I'M SO TIRED OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get used to it. We have two frail "superstars." They simply aren't dependable.

Our role players are horrible: Hayes, Alston, Head. Only Head might have a miniscule amount of trade value.

Our 3rd options are terrible: Scrubola (why doesn't he learn that flipping that ball towards the basket isn't a high percentage shot) and Battier who is so intangible that his teams always lose in the playoffs.

I'm sick of the mantra of "next year" too. But in this case, it does hold true.

Next year, Rick Adelman and his staff can't use the excuse of needing time to transition the players from Van Gundy's offense to his.

Next year, Luis Scola can't use the excuse that he needs time to adjust to the style of play in the NBA.

Next year, Yao Ming can't use the excuse that he's had "bad luck" when he's missed 25-30 games 3 straight seasons.

Next year, Tracy McGrady can't use the excuse that he doesn't have enough talent around him.

The way I see it, if the team returns intact and adds a healthy Yao Ming and still can't get it done in the postseason, blow it up and start over.

If they fall victim to injuries yet again(particularly to either Yao or T-Mac), this is not the core to build a contender around, so blow it up and start over.

2008-09 is truly put up or shut up time for this team and this organization.

alot of brutal truth here that most of us can't accept. only disagreement is, while i'd rather have scola as our 4th option, and while i do blame the majority of tonight's loss on him, he's definitely not a scrub. he's a good player. couldnt agree more on battier though. he's too inept on offense to be a part of a team that wants to be elite, especially ours, whose problem is our offense. he eats up way too many minutes and contributes way too little on the offensive end. he plays hard, dont get me wrong, but sometimes you need talent over hustle.

Omg...people. Can you give these guys a break??? I mean...half the teams have NEVER won a championship. Remember we were the team that werent supposed to go to the playoffs when yao went down.

We were the team that went 22 in a row...second most EVER, with players that no one outside of greater houston has ever heard of...with the exception of Dik and Tmac.

We grabbed the 5th seed, with a chance to get the 1 seed, with 3 games left.

we improved our record by 3 games over last years record with our best player out for half the season.

Oh yea....and its only 2 games into the playoffs. About 80% of you guys are going to go on your "man this team is crap, tmac is lazy, we suck" rants....if we lose.

Have some heart....have some confidence in your team. If you are on a rockets message board, im pretty sure the rockets have had a significant impact on your life. If the rockets were a single person that was close to you, would you be ready to disown them when they mess up a little??? No ones perfect....you guys are freakin spoiled. just be glad we MADE the playoffs, and that we arent Seattle with the worst record, and the team getting ready to head out to Oklahoma. jeez.

So are we suppose to win a championship without our best player?
