Slamduncan, the commish, told me to post on here that he gave me permission to be the Warriors. I don't really have much to trade as far as players, but if anyone wants to move up in the draft I have the #2 pick. ------------------
Sorry to everyone who wants that high draft pick... but the more GM's we have in this league, the more fun it's gonna be. Actually, you should have the #1 pick... right now the Nuggest are 2-54, and you are 2-55. So you are barely ahead for the best pick. ------------------ CC.NET Sim League Web Page My Team (Sonics) Runnin', Ravin', Endin', Out.

hey, Ill trade you Wally Szczerbiak and a 1st round common draft pick (#16 overall) for your #1 rookie. ------------------ I have just realized that the stakes are myself I have no other ransom money, nothing to break or barter but my life my spirit measured out, in bits, spread over the roulette table, I recoup what I can nothing else to shove under the nose of the maître de jeu nothing to thrust out the window, no white flag this flesh all I have to offer, to make the play with this immediate head, what it comes up with, my move as we slither over this go board, stepping always (we hope) between the lines
LOL runnin. 2-55 vs 2-54, that's some good competition. If anyone wants Mookie, Foyle or Mills I will trade them for decent picks. I would prefer to not win anymore games this year. I would especially like to lose Mills and his 21 ppg. I know he won't get 21 for anyone else, but he's decent. No thanks rimbaud. If I trade the pick I want multiple picks lower in the draft. I want something like a couple of picks in the 10-12 range or maybe a 6-8 and 18-22. ------------------
Jdzau i have the #1 or the #2 not sure me and u are tied rookie and #16... ------------------ ***FRANCHISE*** [This message has been edited by franchise_3 (edited June 10, 2001).]
Welcome - we are closing up to a full league - only 3 to go. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
Btw the homepage si not updated for the picks with the latest standings so here is the top reverse records: #1 Warriors 4-55 #2 Nuggets 4-54 #3 Hawks 7-52 -- Suns 8-50 -- Hornets 10-48 -- Magic 11-45 #4 Heat 12-46 Now we only need someone to pick up Suns, Hornets and Magic and then we have a full league. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
Are we just giving the picks to the new owners because a lot of trades have been based on where the picks were gonna be. If you add in a new kid who has a low pick, that throws everything off. For example I may have traded for the #1 pick and then got screwed because it now dropped to number 3 pick. I can live with it, but I wouldn't agree with it. You know what I mean.... ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Personally, I don't think teams should be added mid-season for what you said PSJ, but also because it hurst the new GM...anyway, it is not big deal. Just from now on I hate JD and the Warriors almost as much as I hate that b*stard Dean and his Wizards...1 more team to use my "intentional foul" defense on.
At the time we started talking about it noone had traded for the top 16 picks but for BGM (Jazz), Raven (Sonics) and me (Sixers). We are all veterans, and we all should have known about the posibillity that new teams joins - that is what has happened all the time in this sim. I for one hopes for a full league and will happily take another hit to my high... now semi-high picks. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage [This message has been edited by Heath2000 (edited June 11, 2001).]
Everyone, I have always said that the league was open to new GM's, and they deserve the same chance to compete as any of us do. I know it hurts to move down a spot in the draft, but you already have reasonably good teams and/or picks. You'll have your chance. Can you guys imagine how cool it would be to have a full league with every team taken? Considering we started with around 14 or 15? The best thing I can tell you is to prepare for the draft by assuming all teams, including the Suns and Hornets, will be taken. I hope and think they can be, but so you do not become disappointed with your draft position, look at your picks now and think what they would be with a full league. Expansion is a part of any sport, and sometimes it can make teams unhappy in drafts (see Houston automatically getting top pick next year), but it has to occur in order to have the best league possible. Sorry for any inconvenience it causes those of you with higher picks... ------------------ Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. Profiles, rankings, mock drafts, and more!
i think its un-fair becuase i relyed on the #1 pick so heavily and now its noth thre for me i have no problem with it, i was just agreeing with Rimmy and PSJ. im sure Rimmy relied on his pick also, and same with PSJ ------------------ ***FRANCHISE***
Also, one more thing I thought of regarding the draft. I know it's unreasonable to expect it to go into effect this season, but for future common drafts and next year's rookie draft, what does everyone think about having a draft lottery from the non-playoff teams like in the NBA? Could be kind of fun, esp. when all teams are pretty competitive. Any thoughts on this? ------------------ Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. yea thats cool cat but dont do a lottery this year next year... ------------------ ***FRANCHISE*** [This message has been edited by franchise_3 (edited June 11, 2001).]
I retract my previous statements, but leave them up so no one will tink I said something too bad. About the lottery, Cat, I would not be opposed to it -- even this year.
I think the lottery would be good this year. If your going to give the new GM's a draft pick (making it a little unfair to the old owners who have been trading picks not knowing this) then a lottery would even things out and give everyone a chance. I think it's a good thought. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
