OK, maybe that is not fair.

It is possible that I am hating America and how we treat Israel, or how we treat the rest of the world on Israel’s behalf.

Can we all agree that a war on terrorism is a good thing?
    I think so.
Terrorism sucks. It sucks in Japan, it sucks in Ireland, it sucks in the Gulf, It sucks in Manhattan, and yes it sucks in Jerusalem.

So we go out and fight the world’s terrorists. Yeah go us, go our allies. woo hoo, justice for all the victims of terrorism.

Have you noticed that N Ireland has toed the line?? IRA members gave up weapons, and all kinds of warm fuzzies around. Barely any conflicts. Seriously, it’s just amazing.

You have to have noticed our "success" in SE Asia. Afghanistan is all over the news. Woo hoo!!. (But I actually don’t see anything we have done there as a true success, but maybe that’s just me. I want to see more results)

So I ask you guys this. How come Israel can continue to increase its aggressions against the residents of its occupied Palestinian areas, and not get reprimanded? Why is it that the refugees are the terrorists?? Both sides are terrorists. BOTH sides. Why aren’t there a million peacekeepers in Israel keeping their soldiers from attacking the villages they seem to love invading and occupying??

Why is a UN probe into a TERRORIST act of GENOCIDE blocked by Israel and no one says BOO.

All the aggressions in that part of the world revolve around the Massacre at Jenin. Whether or not it was what either side says it was doesn’t matter. It was SOMETHING, and something truly worth probing. So why would Israel say no and block a UN probe.

I sorry, am having trouble expressing my sentiment on these issues, but I hope my point is at understood of not clear.

Israel is as much a terrorist nation as Lebanon, Syria, the camps of the PLO, and Iraq.

The fact that they are not a threat to us is Irrelevant. They are terrorists, and their needs to be a UN presence keeping things under control.

And for all of you who may feel reactionary tonight, well I guess I’m sorry. I am not religious in any way, I am however Political, and somehow I still believe in fairness. The way we protect Israel is Un-fair. Some protection is necessary, but turning a blind eye and playing hypocrite is just wrong. If we are the worlds Police as we have been acting than we should call internal affairs now as there are definitely some dirty cops working the Mideast beat.

    PEACE,

    Micah

First off, ISREAL is attacking Palestine villages for the same reason we are in Afghanistan..

Tell the terrorist people of Palestine to stop terrorising Isrealis and Isreal will do same.

    GO U.S.A.! - GO ISREAL!

Just like the United States is always getting picked on - Isreal receives the same - just alot worse.

Isreal is only defending its homeland - just like we are defending ours.

Blame the Palestinian leaders - not Isreal.

Anyone think Arafat would be much cooler if his name was spelled A-r-a-P-H-A-T? Maybe, maybe no.

    :)

Nahh Arafat is a Jack arse too. I think less than that Sharon character though. Arafat seems to have mellowed signifigantly over the years(lessening his jack arseness), but Mr Sharon is as angry as ever (as much an Arse as Arafat at his prime). He must have kidney stones or something.

ok I am way over my post per day average, I gotta cut back.

Anyone read the Chronicle today? I havent read it yet, but supposedly our House and Senate are wholeheartedly backing up Israel. Those 2% Jews living in America apparently are very wealthy donors. Maybe our dumb ass congressmen should think about others for once instead of their own campaign funds. We never learned anything from 9-11 I guess.

    I live in the U.S. of A

Yea it's Palestinian homeland as well... But the Palestines were given several chances to split the land half/half Israel was more than willing to give Palestiians about 95% of land they claim is theirs... But the greedy Palesitine leaders wanted all...

Sorry but the world doesn't work that way... You don't always get what you want. Palestinians had thier chance - but their leaders blew it.

I'm not jewish - im not middle eastern - im mexican american...

I support any country defending its homeland from terrorism. Israel has all rights and means to defend its country and it's people.

We ABSOLUTELY HAVE to back up Israel. We HAVE to be on their side because they areGod's chosen people and they have God on their side. You don't EVEN want to know what will happen to us as a country if we go against them. We need to be their Allies because even though it looks bad right now; Israel is doing the right thing by protecting the land that God gave back to them in 1948. God said that Israel would lose their land and theydid a very long time ago but He said that once they got it back(it happened in 1948) that NO MAN would EVER take it from them.

The ONLY way Israel will ever lose their land is for them to freely give it up to another country. After this happens...well let's just say its a REALLY long story and if you want to email me I wil finish it for you.

I want to tell you another thing about Israel's enemies. They don't care ONE BIT about the land...they could have ALL of it, 100%, and not be happy. They want EVERY Israelite and Jew DEAD. Its not about the Holy land; its about genocide. I can promise you that is what they are fighting over. They will not be satisfied until every last Israelite is dead. It is as simple as that.

If you think the Israelis are not being reprimanded, how much have you heard about Chechnya recently?

It is interesting and disheartening to see what is happening to Israel as their struggle to occupy the West Bank and Gaza continues.

For all but the most blind it should be evident that with continued settlement building and the recent destruction of town halls, Palesinian birth , death and real estate records that a near majority of Israelis do not want a good faith land for peace deal.

It is true that a majority could probably be mustered for giving the Palestinians a non-viable homeland such as the Afrikanners proposed for the Blacks in South Africa. This seems to be done mainly in the spirit of "we just need to separate ourselves from those people."

Israel used to be supported at its inception by many liberals, socialists and others who have humanitarian anti-racist ideas and were opposed to anti-semitism. Many of these people, unless they are Jewish, are now abandoning support for the current policies of Israel and view it as this racist, expansionist Israeli state.

Now as Israel becomes the near sole focus of Jewishness (a golden calf and idol according to non-Zionist Jews) and Sharon types become dominant, Israel is more and more seeking support from the Tom Delays and Christian fundamentalists..
The very type of right wing nuts who have traditionally been anti-semites.

By backing this coalition with the Christian Right the Jews in America may temporarily get backing for Sharon and Israeli expansionism, but they may ultimately not get the type of policies in the US they like. These same right wing nuts who have formed the ranks of anti-semites in the past could turn on them again.

It is an interesting phenomena to see Jews in the US be so quick to cry foul if someone calls the US a "Christian Nation" or who love separation of church and state here (since they are a small minority). However, they insist that Israel always be a "Jewish" state.

Imagine the uproar if we said that only Christians could immigrate to the US, because we want to defend the Christian character of our country ala Pat Buchanan; or if we were to spend a great deal of the treasury funds building "settlements" that only Christians could live in; Jews had to carry identity cards showing them to be Jewish Americans and we restricted their travel to the State of Israel or to meet Jews in other lands; Jews could not be in the military.

Similar restrictions are placed by Israel on the Arab Israelis. I know, blah blah blah, but national defense can justify anything including racism.

    Sad.

The difference might be that Israel was created as a refuge for Jews in response to persecution in a specific period of time that almost wiped out the race. The US was created so that many different peoples could gain refuge from persecution. One was created as a religious state, one was not.

It wouldn't be very smart for the Israelis to allow Palestinians free access and movement when their number are likely to include people with explosives looking for schools, cafes, and buses to blow up. It would probably not be a good idea for them to fill their ranks with Palestinians whose ranks would undoubtably be filled with anti-Israelis infiltrating for destructive purposes.

I'm sympathetic to the plight of the Holocaust victims. The correct thing to do would have been to have taken a part of Germany for the Jewish Holocaust Survivors.

I'm against religious states, whether Muslim, Christian or Jew. A very backward concept to my way of thinking.

However I am willing to accept this backward state, (they have nuclear weapons and now lived there a generation or two), but I do believe, Holocaust or not, they should be satisfied to have been the last white european colonialists to go and conquer a land from third world people.

They should be satisfied with that and let the West Bank and Gaza go. Accept the Saudi Peace Proposal and move on. The SAudi Proposal is negotiable on the right of return for all Paslestinians and is very reasonable.

As many Jews have remarked trying to hold on to the occupied territories is turning Israel into an undemocratic and militaristic societ. far from the ideals of many of the early Zionists.
