    I just realized that the quality of our board and the quality of our fans.

    Visit RealGM Magic board, and you will see more than half of their fans still believe it is about which offer is best for magic and they can trade Tmac whereever they want. Are people from Florida that thick?

    Thing about this board is that there are a lot of educated fans on here and those who aren't GET educated by those who are once they are here. :)

    Why are there so few educated fans over there then? Why their uneducated fans ramain uneducated after posting 1000's of times?

    An ideal fan club should set a standard that every member must pass to be allowed in. That way the discussion would be so much better.

    Ours is fine:)

    Look at the first page, 2 locked threads. The admins in this board are very good about getting sources and shutting down flame based threads. That's why this site is good, the admins lay down the law and enforce it with a passion. Are still more than happy to allow posters of other teams (i.e. Memphis X) to post as long as they are respectable.

    That and the board is remarkably self policed. There are tons of good veteran posters around that can tell you if what you are doing is stupid and can give good pointers. Mostly we are even nice and polite when doing so.

    The reason this forum is so much more solid than a lot of other forums - particularly some of the big one's like ESPN or Real GM - is because it is heavily regulated. Clutch does an amazing job eliminating problems in ways far more subtle than outright banning people. By doing things like closing or moving threads, removing problem posts, etc., he keeps the board much more orderly and organized.

    People understand a certain standard is expected not just by Clutch but by many of the regulars and fans here. We all want to talk about the Rockets but do so in a way that is constructive and productive. As a result, you get a lot of self-policing.

    Of course, a couple years back when we went to the lottery after that horrific season, there were times when I envied the plesant and rational discussions on the ESPN board. :D

    yeah i liked how new membership is closed to prevent further YOF and possible now new McGOF to flood the board with their incessant banter about nothing. also of course it will prevent any possible bandwagoning fans or future "trolls" to clutter up the board with there great "analysis"

    the thing i like about this board is that it is by far the most classiest bbs i've seen the majority of the members are real rocket fans who've stucked through the good,great and ugly times of hte franchise. unlike the most popular lakers board with their nonsense trades and warped sense of reality.

    for example i was on there to find out if there was any more info about Rudy T being the next coach and ther was the potential shaq trade stuff one guy wanted to do this

    after getting nash trade him to the clippers along with george for
    maggete/wilcox and the #4 pick :rolleyes:
