Great game by Yao.. This game should DEFINITELY shut the nay-sayers mouths for awhile. Afterall, you put up GREAT #'s against the top players in the NBA. Imagine what he will do to regular teams with Jerome James and Ervin Johnson in the middle.. Plus, he will only get better with more training..

I have always been a Yao supporter and said that he will average 14 and 7 after the all star break but I am gonna increase that to 16 and 10 and 3 after the all-star break. This guy is for REAL and I think he will be MUCH BETTER than Tim Duncan in the future... He will be a 7"5 Tim Duncan with a better outside shot!

I am excited too mrbasketball but I don't think we ought to be talking about Tim Duncan yet. He may that good though eventually. A different type of player though. But the one thing that is for sure is that he will help the Rockets immensely and I would sure as hell rather have him on our side than go up against him.

    Careful now, bigguy.

Duncan is, in my opinion, the best player in the league (yeah, Shaq's the most valuable, but I said best.

If Houston had Duncan, we'd be playing in the W.C. Finals.

Another thing, Tim Duncan is a darn good guy, not a trashtalker. He's polite, well-educated, honest, humble, and plays with the old school mentality. Who else in the league, of any size, can use the glass like Duncan?

    I hear ya hardeji,

Duncan is the most complete center/foward in the league. I love
is touch around the rim. I think it would be a great matup to see
two SKILLED centers going at each other. Duncan and Ming!

Now, if only Ducan could keep his FT% around 80!

It's fair to say that Yao has the best shot at being the next TD or even better among the NBA players, but he's not quite there yet. I think he's a notch below TD at the same age offensively, due to the lack of quality coaching and training. Defensively he is at least already on par with TD due to his size. I think TD will finish his career as a future HOFer, and Yao has the best and serious chance to achieve that status as well.

    Hey panda.

    Like the signature.

How about The Ming Dynasty (Ming) and the Twin Dragons (Francis and Mobley)!

    Guys,

I said that Yao will be better than Duncan in the FUTURE. Duncan is pretty much at his prime in my opinion... But these are the facts...

Ming is much bigger in size (height/weight)

Ming has a better outside shot

Ming is a better shot blocker

    BOTH are mobile

Ming is a better FT shooter

    BOTH are good passers

Duncan has better post moves NOW but Ming will improve

In conclusion, Ming has a much better foundation than Duncan and subsequently has a much higher upside...

Thanks. Those nicknames are cool, although the Mini Twin Dragons for Francis and Mobely sounds more like it. :)

i think ming and griffin will be tougher to guard than steve and cat.

we need two nicknames for two different 1-2 punches.
