You say he isn't a pg. You say he shoots too much. But what do you think our record would be if he took 10-12 shots per game. We need him to shoot 18-20 times a game in order to win. He is our franchise player. He puts up 20+ points, 6 dimes and 6 boards per game. He is a great player. It seems like fans of other teams think Steve is better then Rockets fans think he is.

Francis is a great player, regardless of position.
He just needs complementary players, rather than repetitive ones, to make our offense much smoother.
I'd have loved to grab BBarry from the Sonics. He would blend perfectly at the 2 with Steve and Yao.

I don't think most of us have problems with Steve's number of
shots. However, he should move the ball more and make wiser
    decisions.

IMO, he is trying to do too much. We don't need him to fight so
hard for rebounds, sometimes with his own teammates. It is simply not necessary(our frontcourt is excellent at rebounding)
and may hurt him. I would trade his 6 rbs for 2 more assists.

First of all....I think Steve Francis is great. I think that there are a number of reasons why people hate. Like it became with Hakeem, people have become spoiled with the production. People who watch every game seem to only see the negatives. Everyone use to CONSTANTLY complain about how Olajuwon would get many fouls by reaching in.....or how he got the ball stolen from him by often putting it on the floor in traffic. It was often easier to notice that than how great he was at getting steals or some of the moves he put on after dribbling in traffic. Go to any other teams message boards(other than for Kobe, Stockton, and Malone...they think they are gods) and you will also find many that mainly point out the negative. I feel that most people here like Steve. Most just don't post praise. Human nature.

I'd rather trade them for 2 less turnovers.

The reason that other teams think he better than we do is because they don't have to live with him day after day...

It's true that we Francis shooting helps us win games, but the reason he HAS to shoot so much is because he can't pass to win games. So, maybe Rudy should top trying to teach Francis how to pass, and just move him to shooting guard.

My problems with Steve aren't on the offensive side of the ball, for the most part. I just wish he could play some defense.

DRose, I'm tired of the SF haters too, Bud. Me too. I think Steve is great for our team. Neither Steve or Yao is our franchise by themselves. They need each other like Shaq needs Kobe and Kobe needs Shaq. Like Malone needs Stockton and vise versa. (Please don't bash me for mentioning that. Now if I mentioned Pippen, now thats a different story. )

One thing he could do is stop trying so much to get those rebounds. Please use his energy to stay with his man and on breakaway baskets.

Francis can be a great player in the NBA! I would rather he be a great Point Guard. If he just cant then he will have to be a great Shooting Guard! I want the best for the Rox and Steve Francis! He is a good player now but with more experience he will be a GREAT!

for the limited amount of games I saw Rockets played, I actually sees some improvement in the team......

Francis is not like what he is early in the season where he will look for his shots..... actually I feel that he is looking to pass a lot more than what he use to..... he is learning, and I believe it won't take long b4 he get to that point..... next season maybe?

Francis rebound numbers have gone down this season, I believe its bcos we have our big man in there......

TO wise.... well, throughout the first half of the Dallas game, there's only 1 TO is due to bad decision....

Ming is getting more and more touches even though lots of ppl dissed Francis for not passing to him more...... Francis is trusting Ming more now and u can see he looks for Ming quite a lot now.... things will come slowly..... Francis is learning..... keep in mind that he has all the while been the most important scorer in the team for all his career (including college), only until now that he has someone in the post for him to pass too..... he will learn.....

    GO FRANCIS!!!

At this time Steve Francis is not one of the NBA Great Players, because his team has not done anything yet. He will prove himself to be great by leading this team into the playoffs and will be considered by all a GREAT when he leads the team into the Championships.

Check out this quote be Lorenzo Wright

``They play better when he's not out there,'' Wright said. ``That lets the other guys show what they can do. The other guys pick up their game. He carries so much of the scoring, when he's not out there, everybody else can play and divide it evenly.''

    YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

Please check the records when Steve took less than 13 shots.
The Roekets are 7-1 in those games. The only loss was to Spurs when Steve shot 1 for 12 in that game. I'm not a Steve hater, but I'm not sure that "But what do you think our record would be if he took 10-12 shots per game. We need him to shoot 18-20 times a game in order to win."

to me, Francis dun need to score for us to win..... with the attention he can get from the opponents team on offense, there are sure open man he can pass to...... though he still tried to take it to the hole himself, he do pass to the open man.... but they miss the open shot......

hopefully the quote from Wright will wake francis up that he dun really need to score (though he shall do so if others really can't score) to win ball games....... move the ball more will give good results....... Francis is learning that now, I'm sure..... he doesn't shoots that much.... compare to last time that is.....
