Mihm said being the No. 1 pick is the goal of every player.

"It's something very few people have done," Mihm said. "But a lot of different things could shake down. I see myself anywhere from No. 1 to 4. It'll be an exciting draft and there might be some stuff people don't foresee."

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA

uhhh... there have been as many 58s as 1s. Am I missing something here? In the past, did the draft start at the second pick?

Indeed there are as many late picks as No. 1s, however - 58 players will be drafted, only one of them will be number one. That means only 1.72% of the players drafted since 1989 went No. 1.

And that percentage falls considerably as the drafts previous to that went to as many as 7-10 rounds.

So, although there have been as many last picks in the draft as No. 1, as a percentage of the overall picks; very, very few people have been drafted No. 1.

Its only my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I know it's nitpicking (sp?) Puedlfor, but my point was that there have been as many 2s as 1s, 3s as 1s, etc.

I realize that this is not what Mihm meant, I'm just being a symanthole.

    Achebe,

Did Mihm say there are more people drafted second? Very few people play pro basketball. Fewer people are drafted #1.

Since everyone is nitpicking here, I will too.

Seems to me he was saying, there have only been lets say somewhere around 50 drafts or so for the NBA (I dont know the exact number). And there are over 5 billion people in the world. SO that is something like 50/5000000000 which is a really small percentage (.000001% or something). So he WAS right!!!

Of course, so were you, the same percentage has been picked 2nd and 3rd and 4th.

But, seeing as there are over 50 other picks per draft, if you add all those up, that means only about 50 players have been taken number one, but over 2500 have been taken not at number one.

Is there any interesting baksketball or rockets news?!?!?!

    okay okay okay.

sniff sniff. I understood all of those intricacies when I read his quote. But I'll give it more credence now. For some reason his quote doesn't sound as bizarre.
