With a great interstate series like this, comes alot of great and not-so-great smack-talk. I remember all of this back during the I-10 shootout and it was fun. Even though us Rocket fans are on the outside this time, I thought it would be fun to post some of the best and worst "smack" from both sides and grade them on a scale of 1 to 10. The side with the most points at the end of the series wins the the "fans shootout." If you find smack post it here. Spurs fans have already fired the first shot. http://pub77.ezboard.com/ffullsportpressfrm7.showMessage?topicID=2129.topic ...............And they have points in my book for giving us Rocket fans some props. It is the Mavs fans that come down to S.A., get totally trashed at the game, start getting violent, and talking their arrogant crap. I've witnessed more Mavs fans getting thrown out of the Alamodome and SBC center than any other. Out of the Houston Rockets, L.A. Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks fans, the ones from Big D are the worst at the games. The Rockets fans are some of the coolest I've ever met. the only thing bad about this 'i-35 shootout' is i-35 itself...the most craptacular road i've ever driven on.
I'm a big Mavs fan, but they've got no shot against the Spurs. Not the way Parker and Ginobili are playing. This series is over in five.... ...unless the Mavs can drastically increase the pace of the game. If they can turn this series into a shootout (like they did with the Kings), they have a chance. The Spurs aren't an open-court team. If they can make San Antonio get out and run, the Mavs can make things interesting. But if they let the Spurs grind it out every possession, this series is over.
If the Mavs can keep up their got shooting, they've got a great chance to take this series. And I see no reason to think that they're not going to. Mavs in seven...
How appropriate that the mavs fan is a vegan. when i look at nash, nowitski, and especially bradley, i think 'vegetarian'.
But does it rank up there with comparing Cuttino to a terd in a septic tank? Now THAT's keen analysis...
Seriously, I'm not sure the Mavs can take the Spurs. They almost fell to the Webber-less Kings. Had Webber played, the Kings would have walked through the series. The Mavs just don't have the interior defense to combat Duncan -- though watching Nash and Parker go head-to-head should be fun. Either way, a Texas team is gonna represent the West. So it's not all bad.
