I’m appreciative for all that Ime has done but I honestly believe

That any proven solid coach could’ve turned this team around after Silas. I dont believe we were ever really as bad as our record showed but jsut not developed or really coached. Similar to the pistons.

I say that to say that Ime needs to be evaluated heavily the next two years before we make any decision to extend him, potentially. We can’t win in this league playing 90’s ball. It’ll keep is competitive but it won’t get us to the top of mountain. It’ll result more highly competitive first round exits. This Ime hiring reminds me of the JVG hiring. Two defensive minding coaches who came defense over offense. We never had any postseason success with JVG. We always made the playoffs with him but that was our ceiling. That’s going to happen with Ime too if he doesn’t bring on an assistant coach to give give this team a real offensive strategy and system. We have the talent to be a real top 5 offense. We have the shooters. We have the scorers. We have the athletes. We might need to get some facilitators but that’s hard to tell because we do t really run a real offense. There wa a possesion in game 7 where Jabari and I think Amen was the time of the keys trying to run a play I think and it took the hole pension for two passes to be made and an ugly hook by Adams I believe. I watched that play in disbelief. No competent playoffs team should be having struggle possesion that’s a game 7. It look like a Silas possession.

No matter if we get the #1 pick or trade for a star or not, Ime has to run a real offense. you can’t jsut throw the ball out there and tell your guys to play harder than their opponent with no direction

    IMEs overrated.

In Boston he was given an already offensively proficient team and simply upped the defense.

In houston he was exposed. Defense doesn’t win championships if you can’t put the ball inside the basket. Stone needs to force him to accept working with an offensive coordinator like a MDA, who took a team of 2 all stars and average 3 point shooting role players to contend with a stacked team.

Ime inherited a steaming pile of diapers in the sun and turned them into a legit playoff team. He deserves a lot of credit for that.

Y’all are fools. Ime took the worst team in the league and landed the two seed in two seasons. The idea that any coach could have done that is moronic.

He’s very good lol. He has the respect of the squad and is as close to a general as you can get in the nba these days. That kind of trust in chain of command is what really builds culture and most of the guys have bought in. Does get mean he’s always right? No even close. But the dynamic is the cornerstone to success

Yeah because every dumpster fire of a team with a bunch of high draft picks wins 50 games two years after their last high draft pick.

Bro this board is delusional lol. I want to see ANY post before this season saying you thought we were capable of getting a 2nd seed and pushing GS to 7 games. All these after the fact azz perspectives are pointless

He was absolutely exposed this series. He panicked in game 4 and got outsmarted in game 7. Not to mention his utter lack of being able to develop a proper offensive was put on full display.

Hes a great culture guy and will win you regular season games, but his one dimensional mindset won’t win you playoff series’.

What kind of offense are you running with the current gauntlet of offensive prowess on this squad that would take this team from 13th in scoring and 12th in offensive rating to top 5?

No he didn't we signed a lot of vets, like Green, FVV and Dillon - and added the young guys.

Ime did a good job, but his deficiencies are spot on in this ops post.

Ime simply needs a offensive minded assistant coach and a true creator at PG

FVV is good for controlling pace and limiting turnovers

but teams don’t fear him in the midrange or at the rim which limits his creation - when he drives teams stay at home because he’s going to - TO, get blocked, miss the layup 8x out of 10

Give Ime a system with more motion that can get DB Bari more catch and shoot opportunities and JG Amen downhill cuts for Alpi passes and watch our PPG explode in half court

I believe it had to be a disciplinarian from the School of Pop.
