Just to make this clear from the start, I am not making any predictions or prognostications. This is simply a would you do this based on the multitude of topics and posts that have appeared latley. In fact, this is more of a - would this satisfy your heart (care of Mick and the boys) if the Rockets made these moves based on all the expessed desires?

Voracity of trades is not the point. The point of this is, would you do this? Would this fill the team needs stated in all the threads? Clearly, these trades would not go through, but do they meet our needs.

    1) Golden State has made it clear that Jamison is available, they are not going anywhere this year and they want cap room next year.

Would you send our cap space (Rice) for next year, M Taylor and Nachbar to Golden State for Jamison, Murphy and Foyle? Yes, the trade is lopsided. That is not the point. It is a basic trade of PFs and supplimental SFs + cap space.

    2) Miami wants size and releif from at least one of their two onerous contracts with Jones and Grant.

Would you send our young guns (EG and Cat) and our back up center Kato and our backup PG (MOOCH) for Grant, Butler and Wade? Is this a lopsided trade? I don't thinks so. We could take Jones as a second alternative if Riley demands Grant stays. Point is Riley gets much bigger and gets smaller contracts to his liking. He gets an interum point guard. He does not have any right now. He also gets a young PF that is still regarded as having the P word (potential) associated with him.

We fill several gap with these moves:

A solid SF position with Jamison and Butler (Butler Can share time at the 2.
A solid PF position with Grant and Murphy (if no Grant we Have Foyle slide and get a servicable guy for fill in minutes)
A solid C position with Yao and Foyle (Foyle's contract expires in a year - if we don't like or need him next year - cool, cap space for growing contracts)
A solid SG position with either Pike, and Wade (if Jones is in the deal than he starts with Pike behind) Wade can slide in for backup time.
A solid PG position with Steve and possibly Wade helping.

Does this satisfy all the holes that have been expressed. Just wishful thinking, but it is nice to know that possibilties exist.

Oh no. Are these trades lopsided? Yes. Do they fill the holes in our team? Ofcourse, because we are picking the players want, and putting together the worst bunch of players that will match contract numbers.

You want to ship Rice out to give Golden State cap relief, but you forget that Foyle's in his last year, they can not pick up the option on Murphy, and Jamison is their franchise player. I have not seen THE SLIGHTEST indication that they want to move the guy.

Golden State doesn't win financially, doesn't get closer to the playoffs, doesn't improve its potential, doesn't fill any voids, and don't get deeper.

As for the second trade, here's what your proposing:

    Mobley
    EG
    Cato
    Moochie

    for

The Miami Heat's top 3 players, 2 of the mon rookie scale contracts, and the 3rd is better than any player we're offering in this deal.

There is no way in hell we will pry away Butler or Wayde from Miami, unless we give them a REAL piece. They intend to lpay Wayde at the point a lot, so this makes them even worse in that area.

Liste, I'm one of the people on this board that proposes trades regularly, so I'm not hating on the PROPOSING, I'm hating on the PROPOSAL. These are 2 of the worst thought out trades I've ever seen, and they are not even CLOSE to being possibilities.

I am really dumbfounded as to WHY you would even bring this up. It's not good enough to be a fantasy idea, and it's not even close to realistic. I'm not normally someone to tear down thread starters, but really, you're asking everyone to close their eyes, shut up, and say "yeah, that is nice".

Team Chemistry can be just as important as talent. Making too many trades can destroy this chemistry. At the end of last year, we had all our players working together. Posey was coming in at the right times, Cat was playing great defense, Steve was Steve, and Yao was setting up his teamates.

Trading away that many key players will make us start at ground zero all over again. If we make any trades this summer, they should be used to help create cap space to sign Posey.

Yeah, we did. If you look back, Steve's number of shots went down. He sacrificed 2 points off his scoring average after All-Star break and his assists were up too. The rest of the team was playing team ball too, hopefully a sign of things to come.

The Rockets would not be interested in any of your proposed Trades ! They are not even thinking Trade this off season.

I just don't get why so many of these threads get started. And now people are trying the "I know it's lopsided, but that's not the point" move. Well wtf is the point then? If the trade has a less than zero chance of happening, why propose it. Are we gonna sit around and RealGM our way through this whole offseason? I'll save you all the trouble. Yes, we can get supper stars when we combine Rice and Cato's contracts, yes you will get a trade accepted thingy from Real GM, but nobody in their right mind is going to trade gold for sh*t.

If we got Murphy, I wouldn't want Grant. Murphy put up all-star numbers last year...

And I thought this would turn into a "Where have you been, Rocket!!! How come your offseason predictions last year didn't amount to ****??" type thread.

I think he's rather brave to be posting something as innocuous as this, to tell you the truth. I guess you're getting the "cold shoulder" treatment, Rocket!!!. Such is life.

Man, ROCKET!!! has gone from being a self-professed insider who didn't know anything to starting a thread with possibly the two most ridiculous trade proposals this board has seen in a while.
