These teams have all been in the news lately with desires to either acquire and/or deal the involved players. I don't know about the Rockets' Trade Exception or how the draft pick situation would work out (specifically, whether or not the Grizz have a pick to deal). Interested to hear your thoughts.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Chicago trades:

    C Eddy Curry (12.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 26.9 minutes)
PF Tyson Chandler (8.7 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 1.1 apg in 27.1 minutes)

    Chicago receives:

SG Bonzi Wells (12.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.1 apg in 27.8 minutes)
    Houston's 1st Round Draft Pick in 2005
Memphis' 1st Round (or 2nd Round) Draft Pick (in some year)

Change in team outlook: -8.8 ppg, -11.6 rpg, and +0.2 apg.

    Houston trades:

PF Maurice Taylor (7.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.8 apg in 26.8 minutes)
SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.9 minutes)
PG Tyronn Lue (6.4 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 3.3 apg in 23.8 minutes)
    2005 1st Round Draft Pick

    Houston receives:

PG Jason Kidd (10.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.0 apg in 21.0 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -7.2 ppg, -3.4 rpg, and -2.4 apg.

    New Jersey trades:

PG Jason Kidd (10.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.0 apg in 21.0 minutes)

    New Jersey receives:

PF Tyson Chandler (8.7 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 1.1 apg in 27.1 minutes)
SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.9 minutes)
PG Jason Williams (9.3 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 5.6 apg in 27.3 minutes)

Change in team outlook: +10.9 ppg, +6.9 rpg, and +4.0 apg.

    Memphis trades:

PG Jason Williams (9.3 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 5.6 apg in 27.3 minutes)
SG Bonzi Wells (12.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.1 apg in 27.8 minutes)
1st or 2nd Round Draft Pick in Year to be Determined

    Memphis receives:

    C Eddy Curry (12.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 26.9 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (7.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.8 apg in 26.8 minutes)
PG Tyronn Lue (6.4 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 3.3 apg in 23.8 minutes)

Change in team outlook: +5.1 ppg, +8.1 rpg, and -1.8 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Chicago, Houston, New Jersey and Memphis being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Chicago, Houston, New Jersey and Memphis had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

You have been assigned Trade ID number 2056130

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This would leave the teams with rotations of:

    Chicago:

    PG: Hinrich, F. Williams
    SG: Wells, Gordon, Duhon, Piatkowski
    SF: Deng, Nocioni, Piatkowski, Griffin
    PF Davis
    C: Harrington

    Houston:

    PG: Kidd, Sura, Barrett
    SG: Sura, Gaines, Jackson
    SF: McGrady, Jackson, Bowen, Nachbar
    PF: Howard, Padgett, Bowen
    C: Yao, Mutombo

    NJ:

    PG: J-Will, Best, Planinic
    SG: Jefferson, Mercer
    SF: Chandler, E. Williams, Buford
PF: Mourning, Scalabrine, A. Williams. Weatherspoon
    C: Collins, A. Williams

    Memphis:

    PG: Watson, Lue
    SG: Miller, Posey, Emmett
    SF: Battier, Posey, D. Jones
PF: Gasol, Taylor, Cardinal, Swift, Humphrey
    C: Curry, Wright, Swift

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Does leave Chicago short-handed in the frontcourt, so I guess I'll have to admit that it's not perfect, but I don't think it's too crazy to consider. I'd love to have Swift/A. Williams somehow end up in Houston (or Chicago, since they need frontcourt help), too.

Rule #1. No team (unless you are Mark Cuban, Paul Allen or the Knicks) can afford to pay THREE Max contract players at the same time. Kidd and Tmac are Max. Yao WILL be Max in 2 years or less. So for that reason alone the deal is not going to happen.
And I dont trust Jason Kidd's knee either!

Can we get Chandler, Jason Williams, and Bonzi Wells? That solved all our problem of PG position, rebounding, athletism, and shooting.

Since Yao doesn't get extended for 2 more years, why not get better now and deal with the max situation 2 years down the road. I'm not 100% sure personally that Yao's a max-worthy player. Win a championship or two and maybe Les won't mind the luxury tax as much.

    Terrible trade idea, just terrible.

Chicago gives away Curry/Chandler and get nothing, nothing in return.

    Please, just stop.

Deuce, I am not sure I can so categorically agree with that.

What difference does it make whether you have three max guys or two max guys plus chumps like Howard, Taylor, Weatherspoon who, combined, make more than the max?

I'd rather have three max guys and a bunch of low-cost players around them - let's say, e.g.:

    PG: Kidd, Barrett
    SG: T-Mac, Sura
    SF: JJ, Boki, Bowen
PF: Padgett, some minimum salary bruiser (that would not be worse than what Howard and Taylor have shown!)
    C: Yao Ming, Mutombo

    than what we currently have.

I'd definitely rather go to war with that than with our current team.

In other words, rather pay three max guys and only add minimum/low-cost players around than paying some guys half the max who are not worth more than a minimum-salary guy.

    P.S.:

I would like to applaud the effort that went into that trade proposal.

But after a quick glance, I am at least sure Chicago would not do it because it basically leaves them way too thin up front.

What the hell are you thinking about. Why do we want Jason at this point of his career. He has the most expensive knees in the whole NBA and he is past 30 yEARS old.

One thing to note here: The Bulls know they suck, this trade would bring them to a new level of suckage...thus only on this thread is this trade even feasible.

FIRST OF ALL IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE.

SECOND JKIDD is overated. His assist to turnover ratio on the year is 1-2... 3 assists to 6 turnovers.. SCRUB... worse than francis. Without KMART to catch his airballs he is gonna be a .200 percent shooter with 4 assists a game. DOn't want him. don't need him. Rather have chandler or younger players...
