Hundreds of thousands of people walk in a silent procession towards Belgrade's New Cemetery March 15, 2003, where slain Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic will be laid to rest. Djindjic was assassinated on March 12 by a sniper. The funeral was the biggest in Belgrade since Josip Broz Tito died in 1980. [Reuters]

this is my country, and those are my people. my relatives are all there, somewhere.

and this assasination probably just got rid of the most non-corrupt and good politician in the country. it is terrible, terrible what took place. it will do alot of harm to yugoslavia, or as it is now officialy called, serbia & montenegro.

dammit. does it just seem like everything is going wrong in the world these days or what?

It is both ironic and sad (for China) that on the same day the Serbians genuinely mourned their DEMOCRATICALLY elected leader, China's leaders pretty much just appointed themselves with no popular input at all. CNN story

Condolences, Jello, sorry to see a country lose a man like that. Any chances they would get the killer?

Sorry, Jello77. The world is a total mess right now, but apparently the Prime Minister touched a lot of lives and did a lot of good to have that many people walk in his honor and pay their respects. It always seems like bad things happen to good people.
