Thought I would get the discussion going early. These games very much determine the landscape of the BCS.

Fri: #13 Texas @ TAMU, 2:30 pm ABC

    Sat: OSU @ #10 OU, 2:30 pm
#3 Mizzu @ #2 KU (Arrowhead Stadium), 7 pm ABC

    South
As of now, DeMarco Murray is out for OU and Bradford is still up in the air with a concussion. Texas needs a OU loss to OSU and they need to beat A&M to get in the Big 12 title game. Otherwise, OU has the tiebreaker.

If UT & OU both lose, it will go down to the 4th tiebreaker between UT, OU, & OSU, which is BCS standings. The team with the best ranking goes to the title game.

    North
Pretty simple...Winner of KU and Mizzu goes to the title game.

I'd love to see OU go down and UT in the championship game. Though, I'm not sure they can beat either KU or UM right now. They're both playing outstanding football. I think KU is going to win the game and the Big 12. I just can't believe I'm imagining the Kansas Jayhawks in the BCS Title game. What a great season this has been...

Overall, it's going to be a fun weekend of football. Throw in USC/ASU, WVU/UCONN, Tenn/Kentucky, VT/Va, and even Boise/Hawaii and you get a great couple days of football.

OSU in the Big 12 title game? Wow. Didn't realize that was possible. Geez.

I don't think it is. When OSU beats OU, and if the captainless ship that is Texas A&M can beat Texas, I believe that both the Longhorns and the Land Thieves will have higher BCS standing than OSU.

That is the least likely scenario since they would have to move past OU and UT in the BCS rankings for it to happen.

I was wrong about one thing...it's actually the 5th tiebreaker.

wow, i didn't know there was this much at stake.

i'm almost positive that texas will beat a&m. i think the osu/ou game will be a good one. hopefully osu can kick ou while their down and pick up a win.

i want to see texas in the big 12 championship.

This is the same TAMU run game that has given Texas fits the past few years, this while Chizik was at UT. So don't be so sure.

If there is a 3-way tie, the highest BCS ranked team will go to the Championship (which would be OU). UT's only chance is an OU loss and UT win.

I also think KU is a more beatable team than Mizzou. Not to take anything away from them, but they haven't played anyone. Their hardest game was the OKSt. game.

it was just as big of a wreck last year, if not worse, and A&M won in Austin. Not saying A&M is going to win, but UT is a wreck also and can lose to just about anyone any given day.

how is ut a wreck, they're top 15 in the bcs. they've lost two games in a conference that has 4 teams represented in the bcs top 25?

yea and the fact that ut is ranked is such bs they are soooooooooo overrated its sick, and a&m has a bunch of talent its just not used they way it could be cause well you know frank sucks. At the end of the day, ill say we win 17-13 and colt gets hurt again.

I was going to wait untill tomorrow for my annual Texas vs A&M thread.

Seems like the maroon kool-aid is already flowing. I'll wait a bit before I lay down a shot of reality. In the meantime enjoy this nugget of hilarity.

So you're saying UT shouldn't be ranked at all?

pgabriel- It's funny that a possible 10-2 season w/ possible BCS appearance can be considered a wreck. Not trying to take anything away from last year's Aggie win, but you would have thought that they won the championship after the game. On the opposite spectrum, some were calling for Mack's head after losing 3 games. I guess there's the difference in the definition of a "wreck."

as long as mcgee is our qb the team will suck but we did win last year with him but it wasnt pretty but here's to hoping mcgee doesnt feel like playing and jarrad starts :D ....and no i do not think texas should be ranked esp after they lose on friday ;)....but i reallu think they are overranked but since everyother team in the standings is losing i understand why they are unfortunately

Texas hasn't looked great, particularly early on. Actually they looked horrible early on. But they found their niche. If you think about it they lost to KSU and OU which is stronger opposition than Colorado/Tech IMO. So I don't see how you can rank them lower.

McGee does suck. So does Johnson. Either way...

Look at what Kansas State did to Texas over the past 2 years. Same scenario applies to TAMU. So I give TAMU 51% chance of beating Texas.

Usually I pull for the Texas Big 12 teams over the non-Texas teams, but if you don't have a rooting interest in any of them, how can you not pull for Kansas. Their (football) fans have suffered for so long.

I hope they win the Big 12 and make it to the BCS Championship game.

Because their coach is an ass. He has done an excellent job this season and you're right in that their fans have suffered for so long, but I haven't been a fan of Mangini since his crybaby act a couple years ago.

I'm rooting for KU because I know some alums who are feeling really good now. We usually debate college hoops and I mercilessly tease them about choke jobs in March. This football team is fun to watch and it would be neat to have a different flavor in the BCS championship game.

You tease Kansas basketball fans???????? Did you go to UCLA or Duke or UNC? I realize KU doesn't have a rafter full of championship banners, but their basketball prowess is undeniable.
