    Hi guys,

I have a business lunch/interview for a job at an HR consulting firm. I have an IT background with experience in development with my most recent work dealing with IT governance, SOX compliance, policies and procedures, etc. Basically I turned into an internal consultant between IT and finance, internal audit and any external consultants we had.

I need some intelligent questions/topics to bring up with them that show how my skills can work in the HR/management consulting world.

You guys have any suggestions? Any good points to bring up with the current financial crisis?

sorry for any typos. I am using my phone.

Isn't that plagiarism if we come up with the questions and you benefit from them?

i'll bite. i'm in the Big 4 and am part of the ERP division, but have done HR work for the last 6 months.

ask about the firm's strategy of implementing change management in the early stages of a project. spout off about your philosophy that change management should be a key component in project design from the beginning phases.

if you don't know packages like Captivate, Oracle User Productivity Kit, SAP Productivity Pack, get to know what they are, and maybe talk about how you would be able to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and change implementation.

there's also a statistic floating out there, like 70% of project failures are due to poor change management efforts. if you can dig it up and its source, i'm sure they'd love you. HR consultants always feel like they're not appreciated because they don't do pure strategy and they have no hard skills that fit on a resume.

    good luck!

Thanks for the advice. We spent a few moments comparing IT change control to that of HR consulting. It went well.
