Illegal, Drunk, High, all of this behind the wheel. And killing a LEO. I hope we make an example out of him. What should be the consequence?
Life imprisonment with some chance at parole for exceptionally good behavior. If you're Christian, pray for his misguided soul. I'm guessing this is the perfect maelstrom of "eye for an eye", but I'm hoping some of that hate turns to love. then again, I was always a dreamer
DWI crashes that result in death should be charged as premeditated murder....nothing less than lethal injection. IMO the victim being LE and the culprit being illegal are irrelevant...bottom line this dude got drunk and high and killed someone. Life is too good.
Agreed. Doesn't matter if he's legal or not. For every 1 illegal that kills someone by drunk driving, there are 100 more done by citizens.
Agreed. One thing that needs to be changed is the punishment for DWI. A slap on the wrist and a fine is not punishment enough. Licenses should be suspended.
If he had been exported to southern Mexico in a prior arrest, then this officer would still be alive. Instead, he will be get out on bail and hide in Mexico for a week and sneak back into the country. Most American criminals don't run to Mexico. They just go back to court.
What a terrible tragedy! I think the illegal part is just another way to promote a political sort of slant. I'm not disputing that this drunken idiot was illegal, but it isn't as important as the officer's death. RIP
I should also hope he gets deported after serving his sentence. In that sense, he is getting special treatment for being illegal.
I was thinking that no matter what his sentence is, the mexico government or embassy or whomever would try to get him deported back to mexico instead of facing jailtime/death in the US
An officer was killed by a drunk, high, illegal alien. America buries a hero and now the tax payers have to pay for Johoan's time in jail? Give him the needle and be done with it.
His legal status should have no bearing on being tried for breaking criminal law. It's not like Texas law has a different guideline for people who have a foreign passport. His punishment should be the same for any other person in his situation.
Exactly. Why should us taxpayers pay for someone who's not even in this country legally? Ship that mother****er off to the drug cartels and tell them that he was ****ing with their drug business.
