Time for the old standby... as long before already asked, "How'd you get your nickname or BBS handle?"

Mine is "IROC it" - sounds like "I Rocket" ( Rocket fan obviously) & "I rock it" (Rock'n'Roll is not all bad) and it incorporates the term IROC as in Z28...

I had some 1988 Camaro Z28 rims on my 1985 Chevy S-10 pick up... Once before I got them when I asked my friend which rims I should choose, the $500 after market hammers, or the junk yard $150 IROC rims, he said "Dude, you should just IROC it and save some money to put into your stereo." Thus the personal story behind the play on words -esque handle. And the rims didn't look bad either.

So, how'd you get your nickname?

    Well....

For 4 years I officiated flag football and softball for the Department of Recreational Sports at Texas A&M, and later for a year for the City of Houston. So quite simply, I was a Ref. And the last time I checked I am a man. Viola!!! Refman. :D

Well, I chose this username because I drink a LOT of RC Cola. Or should say drank. I have now gone a day drinking bottled water.
So now I have to change my name to bottled water. (not really, I kinda like this name.) I mainly did this because my dad told me to, and since he buys me games and basketball tickets, I listened. I also am an athlete, so I shouldn't be drinking something unhealthy. The only bad thing is I am going through withdrawel (sp?) already. (darn headaches.) I also chose this because I thought #1 Rockets fan, and Eddie Griffin's #1 fan were taken. :D

I chose my handle because I'm obviously a Red Sox fan as well as a Rocket fan.

I figured that there wouldn't be many other Red Sox fans that were also Rocket fans, but that was before I met Nomar and dean.

Also, I wasn't very clever in trying to come up with a handle.

I will probably ask for a name change if the baseball players go on strike which looks like a given.:(

I thought the Rocket handles in a board like this would be too cliche. And I also thought a board with these many people would ignore a newbie. Somehow the "Invisible Fan" popped up in my head, and I didn't realize it was a bad pun until 20 posts later. :D

Strumming my guitar and trying to remember some of the old songs I use to play. It seems like a good match between my music and the Rockets. Prior to this one, I was Laughinj (Laughing Jesus) until that computer died and I forgot my password.

I love pandas very much. The mere looks of them make me light-hearted and their cuteness make me smile. Too bad they have low sex drive and low birth rates. Some zoo personels went as far as playing panda sex video in front of them in mating season. It worked! :)

    Mine has two meanings:

    1) From the TV Series, Get Smart, which I absolutely love.

    and

    2) When I was in the last year of school, studing for my final exams I would say to myself "Get smart now!", in an attempt to learn my work.

I'm sure you're all smarter from knowing the origins of my nickname now. :D

one day after school in the 8th grade in 1996...my friend came over and introduced me to ICQ...i was amazed...he told me to think of an sn...i couldn't think of jack crap...then he asked me, "what do u like?". I said bball. So 'hoop-god' evolved...and 13 is my fav number, so it got attached on the end.

I seriously don't know how I got mine...but there was a character on Transformers named devastator, so I guess my name originated from that.;)

when you hit a game sealing shot to deliver Houston its first major championship in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, you deserve someone using your name on this board as their nickname.

    Mateo is my name.

I used to be Locke but that email account and pc died.

I just re-upped as Mateo so I could check out the Eddie Griffin chat. Never got around to fixing it.

Actually, I wish I could be Locke again. Locke was Peter Wiggin's psuedonym in "Ender's Game", which is one bad ass book that I refused to read as a kid because it looked like crappy sci-fi. Turns out it is pretty freaking amazing sci-fi.

    drapg is actually "Dr APG"

when I first signed up for AOL in 1995 I was racking my brain for a handle... i was a junior in high school and wanted to go into sports medicine and be a major league team doctor... so the handle came about (APG are my initials)...

well, one day my dad was hospitalized for malaria... he knew i didn't have the stomach for medicine, so he forced me to stay in the room when he was getting inoculations, etc. needless to say he proved his point b/c i got sick just watching him being poked and prodded with an assortment of needles...

so i went into CS, but the handle stuck... however, over the years it has morphed from Dr APG to DrAPG and finally just to drapg...

see, its not a random group of letters! :D

I lack the wit needed to come up with a origonal name, so I chose, Idaho Vandal for Life, if I had to do it again I would probably just be IV, oh well. its better than my old handle of grub34:eek:

I heard 'Robo McFist' somewhere on TV, but Iron evolved from that somehow. I don't know, Iron sounds more intimidating than Robo on D2 and message boards :)
