There are two freeagents out there the rockets have to get. Two are what the rockets need.
Darrel Armstrong(despite his recent legal problems) and Juan Howard.

Armstong

A Solid Vet who can sign the Rockets Veterans 1.8m, and he might join the rox with the new management additions and Yao Ming, who he could love to feed the ball to.
I heard he has intrest in houston, backing up great talent in francis and playing with a great Center. (He remembers Shaq)

Juan Howard

The perfect fit for a new Look rockets would add another substar in the lineup, if Griffin fails to develop next year as one. Taking the Midlevel at 4.8Has a good buddy here in Posey! an old denver teammate .Many people says he plays The PF only, but i heard he likes playing Small Foward, and wouldn't mind taking that role for a playoff team.

Check this if Griffin blows this next season, we can just trade him and have Howard be the man at PF. So I can't see why adding him to the Lineup wouldn't make great sence(Starting Role at Small Foward)

Just check out the Bench this season with Howard at Small Foward and Armstrong backing up PG.
Bench players
Darrel Armstrong(PG)
James Posey(6th Man) SG
Bostjan Nacbar or Rice (SF'S)
Maurice Taylor (PF)
Kelvin Cato(Center)

Starting Lineups

Francis - PG
Mobley - SG
Howard - SF
Griffin - PF
Ming - C

This looks like a team going to 50+ wins and competing with the Wolves at the 5th Spot.

These 2 vets are what the rockets have to pursue. These are the 2 missing pieces Calvin Murphy and Bill Worrel said are needed in this team (2 vets).

Situation: When the rockets are losing against crapy teams and looking for somebody (some vets) to put the ball into the basket, Howard could be the man! along with Armstrong. Howard's a guy who can Post up offensively and Defensively(Jvg can help his defence) and can go on good streaks when they are most needed. Darrell Could assist the hell out of the ball if he had a player like ming down under the basket. Darrell also can hit the 3 point shot good, and can hit open jump shots.

These two freeagents could get the rockets in the position they want, the next level, beyond just floating out of the first round which they will do if nothing happens this year. Even if they can't get past Phoniex for that 8th Spot, then what going to happen?????! Right now the Wolves are pushing at Howard, the rockets need to get into this debate, and offer Howard promise money for Glenn Rice old contract, and the oppurtuntity to help carry a young talented team and with well developed coaches in JVG, to the Next Level. Rockets have great potential to be great in upcoming years, and with howard there they will be just as great to compete!

Les lets get these two guys!

For the PF spot, I prefer to have a banger. Howard is a good player, but a banger, he is not.

We need a tough inside presence to go along with Yao's strengths.

Why would Juwan Howard sign her when he has the chance to play for either the Lakers or the T-Wolves? He's already said it's all about winning for him, and those to teams are much better with Howard then we would be. I think Armstrong will stay in Orlando where he is a fan favorite.

How many times do I have to say it? Armstrong will not take the $1.8m exception to move his family halfway across the country. If he leaves the Magic, it'll be to an Eastern squad, and likely for over $2m a season. That's why Cleveland and Atlanta are the teams most heavily mentioned in talks with him.

Well you set your post up all nice and stuff....

But Darrell Armstrong will want more than that! I'm sure we could find a way for him to play. I would love having him here.

But I don't know how Juwan Howard will fit...we have too many players at the forward spots! He could be like Terence Morris was last season.

It would be nice to have some veterans around like the Spurs have Steve Kerr, Danny Ferry, Kevin Willis, David Robinson, Steve Smith.....

I think Armstrong would be a good player in ORLANDO, Cleveland, and Atlanta.

Why not Orlando?

I think Darrell's stock just took a hit and 1.8 million might not sound so bad. Very Bad timming on his part:

Armstrong released after posting $1,000 bond

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orlando Magic guard Darrell Armstrong was arrested early Monday after being accused of fighting with a female police officer outside a nightclub.

Armstrong

Armstrong was booked into the Orange County jail on charges of battery on a law-enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.

"It was just an unfortunate accident that probably should've never happened on both parts," Armstrong said from a children's basketball clinic Monday afternoon. "We're just trying to work it out and move on."

Armstrong tried to enter a full taxi outside a club and, upset over being denied a ride, he stood in traffic, Orlando police Sgt. Orlando Rolon said.

When Officer Teresa Joyce tried to get Armstrong out of the street, he briefly scuffled with her and other officers before being arrested, police said.

Joyce severely sprained her left middle and ring fingers while trying to restrain Armstrong, Rolon said.

Upon his release, Armstrong admitted slapping the officer's hand away, but said he was provoked.

"Don't put your hands on me, that's all I'm saying,'' said Armstrong, whose shirt had a rip. "I only knocked her hand.''

The 35-year-old Armstrong, a nine-year NBA veteran, is a free agent, and the Magic have not said whether they will try to re-sign him. Armstrong averaged 9.4 points and 3.9 assists in a reserve role last season.

"We are just becoming aware of the situation,'' Magic general manager John Gabriel said. "We know Darrell and we're, obviously, very surprised at the news. We always support our players to the best of our abilities.

"But because this is a legal matter at this time, we don't have more to add.''

Armstrong's agent, Glenn Schwartzman, did not immediately return a phone message, and it could not be immediately determined if Armstrong has a lawyer.
