a lot of hindsight talk here.. a talented miami team? a real possibility of bucks winning it all with addition of vastly overpaid average player jrue? mvp and #1 seeds are facts?(and it didnt prevented them to be swept in the same year LOL) it was a gentleman sweep and had miami lost as they should have, nobody would have thought about them as a special talent... how come jrue wasnt on a max deal?(at least a max possible for his years in the league, surely not a designated player supermax) you also underrate the fact that yanis couldnt shoot...and thats a huge cant win ever argument in todays nba...adding maxed jrue for a 3frps was a disappointing weak move, literally a hail mary.... at that time nobody believed bucks will win it all...and you couldnt get 3 frps back now for jrue because hes almost an average nba player paid the max money...
This is an awful trade. I really thought the Rockets lost great talent in Darryl and Sachin, but Darryl obviously has tunnel vision going after all of his old players who are not the same as they were in 2017. Giving Harden anything over $40M/Year is going to be a mistake, but I get it has to be done. Now we have Sachin trading away 4 first rounder for Gobert when they already have a max center lol. $400M on the center position in a guard driven league, it just reeks of a desperation move.
Seems like Tim Connelly was the driver behind acquiring Gobert not Sachin. Sachin probably just ran the numbers and made sure everything worked.
Jazz F’d up the trade market, but to me, this really goes all the way back to the Jrue Holiday trade now every borderline All-Star is worth 4-5 1st round picks, and any superstar is worth 7 1st rounders
Gilbert does not know what he is talking about. This isn't some successful franchise we are analyzing. This a franchise that has been inconsistent since Garnett left. Those FRPs are gold, not fools gold.

I'm pretty interested to see how this Twolves team does with KAT at PF and Gobert at center. ANT is a show within himself. I don't think they'll be contenders but they can be a great regular season team that tops out at the second round IMO.
Yeah, I think the Timberwolves gave themselves a high floor but only a medium ceiling. Which is to say, I think they're hardcapped short of reached the Finals, but they should pile up a ton of regular season wins.
