After the watching the meltdown by the Lakers last night I noticed how much of advantage the Celtics were with bigger and stronger PF and C. In the first quarter nobody could stop Odom who is playing as the Lakers second biggest guy, if the Lakers had a healthy Bynum how would the series be looking now? I believe it would be probably 3-1 Lakers right now because of the fact that KG would struggle a lot more with that type of 7 footer. What are you guys take on it?

    a lot of ifs really

on paper yeah they would be tougher inside but who knows how bynum would be remember bynum is like what 19, 20? playing in the nba finals at that age when he was just coming into his own he may shrink like gasol and odom have. he could have gotten into foul trouble early too chances are refs are going to give the benefit of any doubts to garnett over bynum on possible fouls.

i still think the celtics would have won the series though maybe in 6 games.

oh yeah probably should change your sig man Clutch doesnt look too kindly on adverts like that.

KG wouldn't be guarding Bynum. He would take either Pau or LO while Perkins or P.J. Brown would guard Bynum.

Having Bynum probably wouldn't hurt the Lakers. Being only a 3rd year player (and one with a lot of mood swings), we don't really know how effective he would have been in the playoffs. There is also some question about how well he and Pau will play together. Both of them in the lineup makes the Lakers a whole lot slower.

There isn't any way to know how this series would be going. Because of chemistry issues, we can't be 100% sure the Lakers would have made the Finals.

The main "what if" I care about is what would have happened if Yao Ming hadn't gone down with his injury.

It's funny you say that because the Celtics were more efficient when they went small.

I'm not extremely sold on Bynum as a game changer. Part of the perception might be a combination of LA hype and the poor quality of big men around the league.
