JVG is a hard working, blue collar type of guy. If he says he got an insider tip from a ref, I believe him. How do the rest of you feel?
Van Gundy won't sell anyone out. And David Stern needs to back off cuz suspending the guy will only keep this a hot topic.
How about... the NBA investigates the matter, finds out who the source was after 20 other refs rat him out, the guy loses his job and is banned from the league, David Stern legally changes the name of the NBA to Nazi Basketball Accusations, Steve Kerr, Doug Collins, and Tom Tolbert are named league officers, and then somewhere down the line the world learns that David Stern actually died 7 years ago during the lockout and Mark Cuban spent roughly $415 million making a life-size Stern-bot that he controls.
I highly doubt JVG will sell his man out (assuming there is one to begin with), nor will be retract his statement. I also highly doubt "the source" will reveal itself, unless an ungodly sum of money is put before him.
If he did retract his statement, he may get the NBA's forgiveness, but then I think there will be a lot of fans who would never forgive him.
Right on. If he retracted his statement, I would lose all my respect for him. I think most fans would too. And most importantly, his players would lose respect for him.
I believe JVG will stand by his statement and refuse to reveal his source. Thus NBA can't do nothing about it but to suspend him for 40+ games or even the whole season to save their faces.
