How were the Rockets able to get Torres?

    Or, what are the rules regarding having to draft a player verses, signing a FA who had never been drafted in the NBA?

    Was Torres too old for the draft?

    I believe the way it works is you're automatically entered in the draft at the age of 21.

    Oscar is currently 24 and no one drafted him when he was 21, so the Rockets could just sign him outright...

    There are a bunch of guys who go undrafted but get asked to various camps. Some stick, some don't.
