http://www.btefnet.com/index.php?show=64 I want to download the newest episode of "The Mountain" from the above link, but I have no idea how this bit torrent stuff works... I know I am probably going to get flamed because of the show's content, but it's all good... Somebody, anybody, please help me out here...what do I do?
I've downloaded The Amazing Race from there before. What you need to do is go to google, type in BitComet, then find a site to download that program - it will be free. Once it is donwloaded, use that to try and download The Mountain. There may be some firewall issues that others can address that may speed it up, but I'm no expert with these things - I just know I was able to use it successfully a couple of times.
I don't think anyone is going to tell you how to set it up and get it to work on a message board, it can be a process. Your best bet is start with a google search and do all the research you can. Then download a BT client like Azureus, BitComet, BitTornado or any of the other clients out there. Then make sure you're not behind a firewall or router and if you are you'll have to do some port forwarding. There's a lot of info out there on BT, so get crackin'....
What is the difference between BT and services such as Limewire? I use Limewire and often find it difficult to locate some titles. Are there more titles available with BT? I often have trouble connecting with located clients on LW...does BT have similar problems?
BT is a client for LARGE files, you pretty much don't download single songs with BT. I'm not saying you can't, cause I'm sure you can. I don't know enough about Limewire, other than it's another Morpheus, Grokster, Kazaa type P2P program.
I was able to download the episode using JayZ750's advice, but when I use Windows Media Player to playback the download, the picture (HDTV), is real jumpy. It's very clear, but how do I get the picture to stop jumping? It's doing the same thing when I try to play it back on RealPlayer. Any suggestions?
That's funny. Usually the most likely reasons for video problems is that you don't have the right codecs. But in those cases you wouldn't have picture at all, just sound. The only suggestion that I have is for you to download and install the latest codec and see if that helps. If I'm not mistaken, the group that ripped that show uses the Xvid codec, which you can download here: http://www.koepi.org/XviD-1.0.3-20122004.exe If that doesn't work then I'm tapped.
