A lot of negative comments have been said on Tmac. I for sure was one who's bothered by his previous performance in the regular season. A good point was raised by Jeff on other thread that we have to consider that he's been out for 4 months without playing basketball which is a very reasonable 'excuse'. Now the question is what can we do to make him get back to his playing form instead of bormarding him with bad comments here. Cmon Rockets fan, we can do this. I'm sure that the Rowdies are all subscribed to this BB and they can execute whatever idea they think is feasible. AggieDoc mentioned that one thing is to do a kind of chant like "TMAC MVP" during the home games. I'm sure TMAC would get the message. Any other ideas?
Come on man..we already have 400 T-Mac threads. Just put your opinion in one of those. Don't turn this into a Rockets.com message board.
This thread is intended for positive ideas not comments. Please make this thread clean from bad comments.
here's something to do.. shower him with compliments.. this works for him and i like that it does, but sometimes it makes him weak. his confidence comes from the last shot he took or the last thing he heard. he cares about his fans.. don't clown him for having some bad nights.. it's only been 3 games.. i'm pessimistic and rational so don't take my "calm down"s lightly.
Anyone who has ever played basketball knows you can't just be on right off the bat. He's taken alot of time off from game situations, and he's not going to performe like he use to until he does get some more playing time. I don't care if he practiced this full year..practice isn't anything like game situations. You can't jump all over a guy who hasn't played a game in a year...got to give him more than three games to prove himself again.
The problem with T-Mac right now is his jump shooting and the ability of driving in the basket.HIs speed also slows down.
PLEASE... this is not a thread about what's going on with tmac.. Let's help him get back to shape mentally!! Let's help him get back to shape mentally!! Let's help him get back to shape mentally!! Let's help him get back to shape mentally!! Let's help him get back to shape mentally!! Let's help him get back to shape mentally!! Let's help him get back to shape mentally!!
You know...I like this idea, because after you remove his overwhelming popularity and all the money he earns, he is still human. He is feeling the pressure of trying to come back after a traumatic type injury (basketball-wise) and perform where he is expected to perform, all the while know that we are in a " win now" mode. So...my suggestion is just to sympathize and let him know how we feel. Message to T-Mac: We all feel your pain and understand all that you have been through. But.....right now you are playing as Tracy MacGrady, and we don't want him because he is a nice guy. YOU ARE STILL T-MAC. When he shoots, he knows the ball is sliding through net, no doubt. When the ball is in his hands, he doesn't see defenders, he sees an open road to the basket and he takes it without paying the toll booth. That's T-MAC. That's You!" I think this is the type of message we need to send. I know it sounds corny, but it's true.
I'm pretty sure a "T-Mac Sucks!" chant spurred by the Red Rowdies in the Toyota Center would do it. Would love to see that happen, I'm pretty sure he would be motivated when he realizes how much he's sucking.
It appears you absolutely know what Positive means. THanks for following the theme of this thread. Get your head out man. Give the guy some love.
Why even go that far. I say put him on the bench and make him earn playing time. Afterall, We can just give his scoring duties to Rafer
Free Tmac on the offensive end. Allow him to be creative once a while. I will let him try to create 3 times in a row in spurts to get him into rythm. He needs to put the ball into basket to free up mentally.
Then he'll ask to be traded.. Then CD will be forced to trade him for D-Wade and Posey.. I kid.. I kid...
Dentist, not Doc, but thanks for crediting the idea. I haven't seen Mac smile in a while. Near the end of the NO/OKCH game last night, with a few minutes left to go, Tracy was trying to get himself going, and he was missing consecutive shots and making consecutive turnovers. In one sequence, Bobby Jax stripped the ball from him as he was going up for a [forced] 3PTer, and then a couple plays later, Tracy had Bobby Jax trapped along the baseline, only to have Jackson throw the ball off Tracy out of bounds. I saw Tracy get PISSED, and i was excited b/c i thought that was all we needed for him to get his ish together; instead, i realized later that it was just his display of frustration from being off his game. he needs a BIG-time confidence boost. Yao has his height, and he'll always have that, and he can always use that as an advantage over opposing teams. Mac had exceptional physical abilities as well as skill, but when his health is still recovering and his game is off, his mental edge is frayed.
