i just thought of one tonight, think it would be a pretty cool commercial for a basketball shoe company or even possibly for the NBA.

how do i get this commercial heard? how do i make it mine so that i make money off of it? i have absolutely no idea, so most any response will be helpful.

i'm no expert on this matter, but.....

probably not gonna happen. there's a lot more to developing and actually executing a commercial (especially if you're talking about a large company) than just having an idea and filming. you'd want to present your idea to whatever company you're willing to pitch it to, but unless you work for a solid advertising firm, they're not gonna listen to you.

besides, it's usually the company (in this case let's say the NBA) that would go to different ad firms telling them what they want, and all the competing firms would then pitch their ideas to NBA brass.

but like i said, i have no experience in the advertising field besides a promotional strategies class (we actually went through a pretty in-depth advertising campaign, though) and a ton o' marketing classes.

We know plenty of producers. Please tell us what it is. ;) We won't tell anyone... or use it for ourselves...
