I bought a Dell Inspiron 600m about two weeks ago and the screen is already dirty with some fingerprints. Does anyone know how to clean a Laptop monitor? What substances do you use. I used a papertowel with water but you can still see some marks. Thanks in advance.

apply a little windex to a cleaning cloth, the kind that doesnt leave lint behind, then just clean the screen and you should be OK

My friend bought this little tool that came with a bottle of liquid specifically designed to clean laptop monitors. It works pretty well and was 7 or 8 bucks for the little tool and liquid, IIRC. I'm sure any place that sells computers and sofware will have one.

How is the inspiron? I'm thinking about getting a new one and the 610 has what I need for a good price.

Isopropyl alcohol is what's usually in the CD lens cleaner solution.

Mix 1 part rubbing alcohol and 1 part water for your solution.

If you're obsessive about it, get a microfiber or a glasses cleaning towel to wipe it.

Windex might be bad for protective screens in LCDs or laptops. Also avoid soap.

I generally make a mixture of one part alazhay, one part chrystal. But you have to have thug passion to use it on your computer.

I have an Inspiron 6000 - it's solid. I, too, have some prints on the screen that I tried cleaning recently to no avail. They can't be seen when the computer is on, though, so it's not that big of a deal to me.
