There's been a lot of whining around here about how Cuttino is a ball hog, how he makes terrible decisions, how he needs to pass more, how he's the worst player since Serge Zwikker.....yet, there aren't many suggestions as to how Cuttino CAN contribute to the team better

How about this...Bring Cuttino off some baseline or weakside screens and get him more of those 15-17 foot jumpers that Calvin is always talking about. Rudy runs that play for Bullard all the time, and he cans jumpers all night long...

This could really improve Cuttino and the team as a whole....He has one of the quickest releases in the league, so he won't get his shot blocked, and with his quickness, he can put up a quick pump fake to freeze the defender and drive it to the hole....

    any other suggestions?

Cuttino Mobley is a Shooting Guard , Shooting Guard , Not a "Create More For the Team" Guard

Cuttino is running the Walt Double Pick a couple times a game since starting. I really like him as a weakside option while Francis and Mo/Collier/KT are running a pnr on the other side.

More than anything else, though, I want him to take his high pick into the middle. The doubling of the pick is giving us so much trouble. Francis likewise. Francis often goes baseline and blows off the pick, if he sees the double/trap setting up.

Why dont the rockets run the play they ran in new york more? That play is the best play they have and they didnt use it at all vs the kings. The one where shandon or cuttino sets a pick for the 4 who then sets a pick for francis. It gives steve so many options and is alot better than a Cuttino ISO to get the game started. I really have no problem with Cuttino going one on one, but I do have a problem with who he is going up against. Despite his late game heroics against New york, he had a bad shooting game and him going one on one against spreewel is not a good matchup. Cuttino going up against possibly the best defender in the league, doug christie, is not a good idea. Also, Cuttino going against Byron russell is not a good idea. Cuttino is at his best when they do set that double pick for him at the free throw line.

That play sounds so much better than isolations after isolations.

You think he could get Calvin to actually SHARE those brownies he always gets??

Hmmm...now that I think about it, there's a better chance of Cuttino passing the ball than Calvin giving up some brownies

They have adding many pnr's to Mobley. It isnt all ISOs anymore. The defense tries to smother it so often Francis and Mobley will dribble away and then go ISO. But, there are indeed more pnr's.

Why not have STeve create for him? I think Cuttino needs to have the ball less, and Francis needs to have it more.

I hear ya' Dakota. Cuttino may be successful alot of time either scoring or with the "hockey assist" but I feel better with Steve creating because if he is stopped he is more likely to create for others, whereas Cat will try to force the shot.

Only if any of the Rockets really knew how to set a good hard pick. I bet Shandon knows how to set a pick. Couldnt Shandon set a pick for Mobley up top? Of couse Shan I dont think is shooting that well....Anyways I just think Cuttino needs to drive more and stop taking those outside jumpers.

Something has to be done. Mobley has shot under 50 percent 26 out of 36 games this season.
