there is a great mass of people who feel the current wokeaucracy is out of control.

there is also a great mass of people who feel Trump is a "ginger buffoon".

there is a not insubstantial overlap between the two.

how that overlap votes will determine who wins in November.

I think you meant to post "buffoon," basso. Personally, I think the word doesn't fit your description of possible events in early November, which is otherwise not wildly off-base, and I'll tell you why. A buffoon is "a ridiculous but amusing person; a clown." trump isn't amusing. He is, however, ridiculous and a clown. He could also be described as "ginger," I guess, based on whatever color his "hair people" toss onto his head. He's also currently a clear and present danger to the people of our republic, in my humble opinion. Amusing just doesn't fit.

Cancel culture is very much on the edges on both sides of the political spectrum. Remember the Dixie chicks, Phil Donahue, etc in the 2000s? Or the dozens of boycotts Trump has tried to start via Twitter. Of the moms trying to cancel Target because they sold a rainbow shirt or something equally ridiculous.

I was listening to Fox News earlier today and they were making the point that Trump should press Democrats to remove the names of Byrd and Marshal from the congressional buildings and it actually made sense (so it won’t happen). There is a difference between trying to dismantle monuments to the confederacy and trying to get the musical Hamilton cancelled because it was not historically accurate in how badly slaves were treated.

Even this letter has garnered so much vitriol by minor academics that want to shape which speech is free speech.
    https://harpers.org/a-letter-on-justice-and-open-debate/

Trump is emblematic of cancel culture. Biden is not, by any measure.

If the cancel culture folks in our party had their way, Bernie would be the candidate. But in the end their enthusiasm for Bernie did not translate into widespread support.

Trump is going to get trounced in the debates because there’s endless ammunition against him and Biden will overwhelmingly translate as the adult in the room. OP is right in that there’s wide enthusiasm or hate on either side of the spectrum, but Independents are going to flock to Biden.

If that letter had been put before me prior to being published, I certainly would have signed it. Congratulations to Harper's for giving it voice. I hope it's widely seen. We could use a lot more support for freedom of expression, and this is an excellent example. Nice find, @Ubiquitin.

As much as I can't stand Trump...

He's a very very smart dodger and entertainer... He will turn the so call debate into a roast.. Hes going to turn it into a Nick Cannon segment of Wild n out... the last thing it will be is a debate on policies...

We should just have the tech company ceos run the country

give me Elon, gates and Tim Cook
Elon go the military turned into skynet and the planet’s ozone fixed
We get Mars as our 50-60th state
Gates fixes all pandemics for the next 500 years
Drops a pc virus against any foreign country that hates us
Tim Cook saves us socially by forcing us to be as inclusive and ultra rich responsible like the actors in the Apple commercials
Everyone will have an Apple Watch to be alerted to anything wrong with anything and anybody in the world
Cook would also control China because China likes to copy everything Apple makes

I’m tired of dumb fat and stupid tik tok people
Let the smart people rule the world
And the dumb people will have no choice but to follow

no car accidents cause the cars will drive themselves
No fat people cause the Apple Watch will tell them to close them rings
No disease cause bill gates predicted everything before it happens

no racism cause we will only discriminate on intelligence
just like Clutchfans where the smart people have ruled since 99

The wokeaucracy is totally out of control.

Trump is the biggest thread to the country since the Civil War.

I'll vote Biden. Wish it were someone different, but I'll vote "Not Trump" as long as I'm allowed.

Right but who does that play to? I’d say his base only. Joe lost his first wife and daughter in a car accident in 1972..then his son Beau to brain cancer a few years ago. He’s not gonna stoop to Trump’s level. He’s put up with too much bulls*** to let Trump get to him when it matters most

Biden's own handlers are doing their best to AVOID the debates, because they know Biden is losing his mental cookies. We all saw him flounder in the Dem primary debates. Dude was losing to Bernie and Butti before the party elders called a stop to it and demanded everyone drop out and endorse Biden.

Seriously, Biden cannot even read a teleprompter from his house right now. I wouldn't trust him to drive a car right now, he's in such bad shape. See this clip from yesterday. He's got nothing left in the tank. Trump is going to clean this guy's clock on stage.

Lol the race shifted solely due to Biden’s debate performances. His performance in SC was enough for Clyburn to feel confident endorsing him. You’re not gonna sway anyone here. If you want to troll, try Reddit or Facebook where you’ll reach a larger/gullible audience. Not sure what the point of doing it here is?

from Webster: "a ludicrous figure"; also, "a gross and usually ill-educated or stupid person."

    i think it fits.

A number of people on the Left have found fault with it, no such much for what the letter says, but for what it doesn’t say and for some of the people who signed it. Personally, I find it unsettling that a simple statement reaffirming the importance of not intimidating dissenting views into silence can be in any way controversial. I mean, even Noam Chomsky signed it (consistent with his past stances on free speech).

Fox News is the thought leader for modern republicans, for better or worse. I follow conservative news sources to not be in a bubble, but I also understand their biases. To Fox’s credit their actual news and not opinion shows are center right. Probably why Trump ***** on them.
