People keep forgetting what we had to cut in order to pay for those tax cuts. Lower and lower middle class folks get a minscule tax cut and a lot of spending cuts on things that benefit them.

    Tax cut is magic.

Quit whining about people who I pretend don't exist and watch the economy grow!

Hey, now I can add a 4k tv to my annual budget. Well worth the slashes to social security and medicare and stagnation of our crumbling infrastructure and failing public education in many regions of the country.

    Thanks @crash5179

This 4 minute 29 second video from CBS This Morning obviates the dozens or even hundreds of actual hard policy pieces by actual policy people that I have read in the past 6 months or so about the comprehensive effects of this thing.

    Post more often!

you see that's you libidiots problem. you guys think that someone like Marci (the first person in the video) gives a **** about social security, medicare, crumbling infrastructure, etc... give me a break. someone like that is worrying about how to pay her bills, how to buy clothes for her kid, how to buy new tires for their car, etc.. you know real life **** they live everyday. she don't stay up and night thinking oh no i'm worried about the roads and bridges... keeping the lights on, food on the table, hoping checks don't bounce, each and every week, that's on her mind.

thinking like that is why rich, white, out of touch, men, republicans keep winning and you are left scratching your head as you try to find blame why you keep losing. and don't even come to me with your recent win against a pedo. anybody would have beaten a pedo.

Ya, like I said, the public school system is failing us as is evident in your post.

Adding 1.8 trillion dollars to the annual defecit so the vast majority of tax savings can go to a group of humans that are holding onto the most accumulated wealth in human history while our public education system is failing, while we are one of few developed first world nations that doesn't provide every citizen garaunteed health coverage(I think poor single mothers care about slashes to medicaid buddy) and yes our crumbling infrastructure is absurd.

Marci and single moms like her don't give a ****. Maybe Rosie O'Donnell and the other Hollyweird millionaires will voluntarily pay more taxes to rebuild infrastructure. They could certainly afford it over someone like Marci.

You're talking about idiots? The idiot is you. If Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid are slashed to pay for this absurd and unneeded tax cut, who is going to suffer? Do you ever use that brain of yours for anything other than spewing nonsensical crap when you post in D&D? Think about it. I'm sure you must be capable of doing some critical thinking, besides babbling about "libidiots," whatever that is. Again, if you can't see how slashing these programs are going to hurt the poor, the elderly, children, the sick, and other disadvantaged Americans, then I don't know what to tell you other than you are blind. Blind and uncaring.

I agree with you and the other moron but... Marci don't give a **** because she can't afford to think big picture. That's what you don't get and that's why you are libidiots and losers.

Again, I swear I have to constantly remind you idiots that I was a Bernie guy which means I would happily pay my fair share for Universal Healthcare. Also, I'm pro minimum wage of $15+, I'm pro "free" community college for all students, I'm pro Basic Income, etc... I would love these things and they are easily possible (without raising taxes actually) if spending is addressed. But it never is so I'm not going to pay for these things when the government won't stop spending foolishly. As soon as the government starts investing in it's citizens and infrastructure, I'll be right behind to pay my share for these wonderful things. Until then, fack off!!, I'm not paying for all of that while billions of foreign aid is sent out, billions for industrial military complex, etc... You think I'm just going to give away my money so it can be burned with a blow torch with nothing in return, fack off!

I wonder what Marci's health insurance looks like?
Will it get cheaper now that Obamacare is gone. . . cause we know CHIPS won't be available

He she saves that 1300$ only to put it right back into health insurance . . . .. well . . . how did she win?

Did my taxes today. Without any lifestyle changes, we got back 1,000 last year and this year got back 28 dollars.

I hope some of you guys got some benefit from that trillion and a half loan from China.

    This is a good thing.
Maybe because the middle class weren't paying as much taxes as other income groups. The upper income groups were getting terribly gouged under Obama.
    Also a good thing.

Yes, very well worth it. Unlike wasteful social programs, your TV purchase will actually help employ people.

Which is why the GOP tax cut was unpopular.

Are you telling me an individual tax system that relies on income will be funded more so by the wealthy? Shocked.... lol

Poor, poor upper income groups. They didn’t build that so they owe money. Sad taxes have become unpatriotic.

Which is why the GOP tax cut is unpopular.

Social programs help people and create jobs.

Those social programs and infrastructure made previous generations but all of sudden we don’t need to invest in this country. How the hell did previous generations get educated without wasteful social programs....

Employ people in China maybe. . . . Seriously, how does that help the working class in America? You are an America first guy right? Wasteful social programs like what? I guarantee you that the SNAP program employes more people than all the tv's that will be bought this year because of these "tax cuts" for the middle and lower class.

Weird. I have had one client worse off so far because of the tax change. If you were a middle class itemizer with dependents that don't qualify for the child tax credit, you can certainly end up worse off. If you live in a state (like GA, since it is where I live) and it has a terrible standard deduction (ours is $6K compared to the Fed $24K), but you have to choose the same for Fed as state, it could really suck.

My income was $101K... and yet I paid $0 in federal income tax (and actually had $833 in refundable tax credits). Republicans always subsidizing children.

Our federal tax bill increased sharply (thousands of $) in our household because of losing SALT deductions in a high-tax blue state. As has been richly described before, we're basically getting double-taxed. There is a big chunk of money we never see (state and local taxes) that the feds now pretend that we actually received. The slightly lower bracket rate did not compensate. We each will be visiting our geriatric parents less this year as a result. Noice! Sorry about that, mom and dad.

So, let's see: paying more while government goes into a deeper hole, all for... corporate stock buybacks. (?) We could consider moving to a lower-tax state, have much less well-paying or interesting jobs, and (in our case in our professions) contribute less to the country, the GDP, and the economy, but... have a lower tax bill. Yay?

For some truly poor people that came out ahead, I am happy about that. If I can pretend that my economic bump in this new law is easing their burden, okay. Not sure the math works that way though.
