He starts becoming one of the best players ever to lace them up. Does that answer your question ? Dont sweat the small $hit....
My prediction is midseason. By the way, Yahoo Sports has Griffin listed as the best rookie forward, ranked 25th overall, in its fantasy list. He's ahead of Rashard Lewis and Quitten. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news/20011026/fantasy.html
As great as he is, and will be, I just don't see Griffin starting as long as Kenny is healthy. He'll definitely play a lot, however, but I don't think Rudy will push him this year and put too much on him. Give him a chance to grow, get some experience, just a positive contribution that's all, I suspect this will be the company line. Definitely in the rotation as either the 3rd or 4th man off the bench behind Mooch and Willis, nightly performance will dictate how much playing time, 'just play, learn, and grow' will be his objectives.
not until his 3rd season....don't get me wrong, he will be a very, great player, but my feeling says not until he has 2 seasons under the belt.
Griffin won't be a full-time starter for another 2 years, maybe 3. He isn't physically ready to be a full-time starter, nor mature enough. He's going to be in foul trouble against the NBA elite. I know people want to compare him to Garnett, but his offensive game isn't anywhere near what Garnett's was when he came into the league. Griffin is more like Kobe, who took about 2 years before he became a competent player, and another 3 before he became a force. Griffin's offensive game is raw, his style of play is going to make him foul prone this early in his career, and physically he isn't ready to take a pounding. Just throwing him out there isn't going to help anybody. If you don't know how to improve in these areas, how is getting pushed around by NBA players going to make him better? Just bring him alone slowly. The Rockets don't need him yet.
I don't think Rudy will start him until he has had a chance to come off the bench against teams once so Rudy can let him have experience against the competition, and evaluate his play against that competition. Injury to kenny aside.
