MoT - See GRiffen [minus shot]

francis could improve by not watching anymore and 1 mixtapes.

ming could improve if one of those great centers who have publicly stated that they want to work w/ him came in. why in the hell didnt we bring in moses when he was practically begging to work w/ yao?

i think eddie needs to bulk up some too. my plan to do this is controversial indeed, but go along w/ me here - eddie needs to start smoking more pot. smoking more = greater hunger (munchies). greater hunger = more eating. more eating = more weight. more weight = a tougher, better eddie. therefore, it is obvious that the rockets need to get eddie on a serious summertime weed smoking program. rudy needs to call him every morning at 9:00 saying "get up eddie-time to wake and bake".

    Eddie Griffin: Strength, arch
    Steve: Defensive mentality
    T-Mo: Ballhandling
Yao: Slight upper body strength, general muscle tone, rest
MoT: Lose some lbs, improve jump
Moochie: 3-pt shooting (must excel at this)
    Boki: See the floor
Cato: Stay in good shape, learn some PF skills
    Posey: Continue working on shot
Rice: Get into phenomenal shape for one final career push
Mobley: Off the ball play, better offensive mentality (FG%)

Rudy T: Get tougher. More discipline.

Overall, I am confident in our team's offseason habits. They're generally a group of gym rats judging by the shape they showed up in last season, and our core players always seem to come back improved after each offseason.

Francis – (1) Defense (2) continue developing mid-range game - when his mid-range shot was automatic at the beginning of the season we were a top 3 team (3) Learn how to properly use a pick and stop making it so easy to go around

Mobley – (1) spot up shooting (2) moving without the ball - he should use his great stamina as an advantage and wear his defender out by making them chase him around like Reggie Miller does.

Griffin – (1) shooting form needs more arc (2) defensive positioning - watch game tape on Cliff Robinson and mimic what he sees. Cliff’s got a similar body type and is an excellent defender

Yao – (1) find a go-to shot (2) learn how to protect the ball (3) work on his help defense. When he’s a defensive presence, we win.

    Posey – outside shot

MoT – regain that shooting touch from outside.

Cato – Spend the whole summer taking 15-18 foot jumpers near the top of the key. The shot Oakley takes all the time

Francis - Make better decisions with the ball. Remember you have options. Don't get up into the air and try to pass at the last moment. And quit letting your man embarass you on D. You have the athletic ability to be a good defender. Fock-ass!!!

Cat - Look for Yao more on the PnR. You miss him quite a bit when he is wide open. Be more aware of the 24 sec clock when you have the ball.

Yao - Increase your vertical. Be more aggressive around the basket (dunk more). Use your huge body to box people out. Quit tipping rebounds.

Griff - Find something to be happy about. Work on the touch of your shot (you look mechanical). Keep growing (bulk) and don't go for the block shot as often.

Posey - Work on your shot. You would benefit greatly if you added a nice pull up/mid range jumper.

Mo - Work on your rebounding.

Cato - You showed an ability to knock down short range jumpers. Keep working on it.

Nachbar - Keep working hard in practice. If you have the goods, youll eventually get some PT.

    Collier - Where do I start? Nevermind, I won't.

Moochie - Set up the offense earlier. Quit waiting till there is 10 secs left on the clock to initiate the offense. Play under control

Hawkins - Work on your jumper. With your D, you could be a regular member of the rotation if you can consistently knock down shots from 18-20.

Morris - Be more consistent. You have a nice game.

Maddox - Show up at the games.

Rice - Not much you can do to improve at your age. Just keep hustling, knocking down the 3s and being the veteran voice that this team needs.

Guards - PENETRATE AND DISH. Stop watching And 1, it's not real. Play smart and under control and learn how to properly execute a fast break.

Small Forwards - Work on your 3's since that's your only role in Rudy's offense.

Power Forwards - Stop with the hash, it's affecting your intensity. Learn to box out and rebound.

Yao - Bulk up and work on your conditioning. Know what you want to do BEFORE you recieve the ball and the double team comes. Don't dribble in the low post! FOOTWORK!

Cato - Embrace your role and bring it EVERY game.

Rudy - Oh Lord, where do I start. For the love of God, NO MORE ISO-BALL. Run some actual plays. Stop with the lip-service and DO IT.

All of them start from scratch day one of practice season on same page (without the services of Rice, Norris, and/or Taylor/Griffin). We need some tweaking, not major, just minor. I know we'll do it. This is someone out there who could bring some serious attitude, inspiration, and skills to this team. Who is that? I'm not sure, but he's coming.

Effort. I want to see players (other than Francis who almost always does) go to the floor chasing loose balls, dive out of bounds to save balls. Move around with out the ball, box out, show up and play with passion. Work on defense.

I see several people suggesting Cat work on playing off the ball. I didn't see one play called where Cat got a screen off the ball. He is the most underutilized Rocket. He showed what he could do last year when he was the number one option. He was shooting like 46-48% and scoring around 24 per in the second half of the season, including over 40% from three.

i think if youre an NBA player and getting payed NBA money then you should have the work ethic to be continuously working on every aspect of your game, not just your weaknesses. experience is the biggest thing we need but individually they always need to be improving. look at shaqs improved freethrow shooting. champions mentality

They need to check their ego's at the door, leave the hummer's benzo's and Escalades at home, and go back to the old galveston highschool gym and work.

    stay humble...stay hungry.
