Just a thought. Do you guys talk to other people who are not members here about Clutchfans and why you post here or like it so much? I noticed I would tell my fiance about CF and how much the camaraderie was unique. I got her interested enough to join and lurk around here, so that was kind of cool and something we bonded on.

I know Moe's me his wife through CF, any other stories about how CF is brought up through out your day..

I've mentioned it to a few friends. They don't know what the hell I am talking about when I say Clutch fans, though.

I've recruited a few friends in "real" life to the bbs, including some close relatives... So, it comes up with them often enough.

Others? Not so much by name.

I quickly slip the word "Clutchfans" between every five words I speak in order to subliminally promote this site and the Rockets to others.

True story: One time, there was a misunderstanding about door-opening etiquette, and I was jumped by bourgeois thugs outside a gas station in River Oaks. Between the blows raining down upon me, I raised my fist skyward, and exclaimed, "Clutchfans, unite! Help!" I expected that from the crowd gathering around us, upon my invocation of this sacred site's name, the silent majority of Clutchfans would step forward from the shadows and come to my aid/defense. But no such luck. One last time, before passing out: "Clutchfans! It's summer! People suppose to get---". Alas, no one helped.

(Okay, not actually a true story.)

    Never.

    Funny timing for this thread.

Last night my friends and I were watching MNF and the Goodson Honda commercial came on.

My friend googled "goodson honda" trying to find more pics of the chick with the enormous sweater puppets.

The first few search hits were "clutchfans" and he wondered aloud wtf CF.net was.

Also noticed that Jennifer Reyna was all over the site on a subsequent search.

All of my friends think clutchfans is a softcore p*rn site now.

p.s. In before "cool story bro".

Um....never? Even if I'm talking to someone who knows about the site, we don't talk about it. Just seems weird talking about it in real life.

World's are colliding! Ima is getting upset!

I'm proud to say that I was the one who started that thread. The first one, anyway. And Oski2005 posted a link to a bunch of her pics. Good times.

My girl is always complaining about me being on here so it is brought up every day. I keep telling her to join but she doesn't want to.

I've mentioned it to my brother, and a few of my cousins. They aren't really message board type of guys, but they did check it out.

The insecurity in this thread is mind boggling. I guess posting on a basketball message board diminishes the social worth of someone who has none to begin with.

I've mentioned it in real life when shopping for dress shirts and link people to articles or posts on it once in a while. It's not a big deal, unless you really feel you aren't worth more than the quality of your posts.

Just remember that we were all "newbs" at one time!

I wear a Rox shirt out here in Kerrville every once in a while & have come across a couple of diehard Rockets fans. I mentioned CF to them. I've also mentioned it to the family & a couple of friends who are long time season ticket holders in Houston. I don't know if they've followed up on it or not.

I talk about it with my wife fairly regularly, because she posts here too. Also, rarely, with my brother, who knows what it is but doesn't partake. My wife will talk about cf.net with a couple of friends. I mostly avoid it just to avoid having to explain what it is to people who don't frequent message boards. Besides, a person isn't often going to find it very interesting to hear about a conversation you've had with people they don't know.
