Someone asked the question recently.. and I typically switch it when I wash clothes. I live by myself, so I might not wash clothes for 2 weeks at times. Sometimes I switch to a new towel in that time...sometimes I might keep the same towel. But I can't remember ever switching in less than a week. Then I tried to look online real fast and saw people all over the map...with a ton of people switching to a new towel every day because it's somehow "dirty" after one use! (we're talking post-shower...no other use) Clutchfans opinions? And no, this is not a story at all. It's a question. So edit your graphic if you're gonna use it
i left that part out. I would wash it if it ever smelled even slightly like mildew, but my towel never reaches that point. It may not seem like it, but I'm pretty particular usually about stuff like that. Sensitive to smells.. I leave the fan in my bathroom running for at least an hour after a shower to get the moisture out to prevent mildew
I have 6-7 towels in the cabinet, and I use a fresh one each time I shower. I wash 'em all at the end of the week.
Every week or so, sometimes longer. Like you, if it ever starts to smell funky I immediately wash it.
I do it every week or two. My cousin does it every day. Seems so wasteful to switch after every use. The running water and soap is supposed to clean you, not the towel.
I go about a week to 10days before switching towels....I don't understand why you would use a new towel every time you shower...I only use my towel after a shower when I'm TOTALLY clean...so I don't really see how a towel can get dirty so fast.
There was a Dilbert Cartoon on this ver subject. One of Dilbert's coworkers said, "Why do I need to wash towels? When I get out of the shower I'm the cleanest thing in my house so shouldn't my towel get clean by drying me off." The Cartoon ends with him asking "Should bath towels be standing on their own?"
The only qualm I'd have with not washing a towel after a shower is pubic hair. Let's be honest. If you have anything down there, it's GOING to get on the towel. Do you really wanna be toweling off with pubic hair on a towel already even if it's yours? (and Lord.... other family members even?) All of that TMI being said, I don't control the towel washing at my house but these are my thoughts Clutchfans. I hope this helped someone out there.
Each and every day. Didn't do that until I got married and now I can't imagine NOT switching every day.
I just had the same discussion with some friends a few days ago. It seems like generally guys are the ones that think its ok to go beyond a couple uses, while most girls switch daily. Growing up in a house full of girls was crazy cause most of our loads of laundry were just towels. One for the body, one for the hair. I realize how wasteful it is, but still can't bring myself to use one towel more than twice. Even then, I will just alternate. Use the previous shower's body towel for my hair and a new body towel.
Do you people who use towels once roll around in mud and filth? I don't see how you can possibly get that dirty. There are many people who don't even get to bathe daily and they live healthy lives.
I just grew up using a new one every time and never thinking twice, then when I was like 14 I saw a report showing something about dead skin cells accumulating on a towel after use... Creeped me out.
