remember when it took so long to get the balls changed back to the real leather ones?

They use a ton of balls.

in football, they use a new ball after every touchdown/field goal. I imagine it is not that farfetched to think that the NBA switches balls every game or even after every half.

There is a break in period for each ball. Players don't like the feel of brand new ones.

+1 for truth. Used balls have a better feel since they are leather.
I don't know what caused ur friend to say such ignorance!

So, I have another question, kinda related to the topic:

Do they use new shoes every game? I think maybe for the all-star game some they use different, but in every game they use new shoes??

I don't think so, at least not everyone. Michael Jordan did though.

Some players do. Wade does. LeBron does. McGrady does.

Wade once changed shoes at half-time. I always thought it was bad to use new shoes all the time. At least for me, sometimes I get blisters when I have a new bball shoe. It takes like 2 - 3 days to break in.

I'm sure it's a personal thing. Maybe all superstars/big name players do. I can't imagine a guy like Travis Diener or Luther Head would though.

I remember reading somewhere that Wade does that because his sponsor's soles don't have grips that last very long - which I highly doubt.

I wonder where all those shoes go to. I know some are auctioned, but I can't imagine all of them ending up so. It would be difficult to find charities you could give those shoes to, as well, with the sizes they come with.

Yeah I doubt they are all auctioned off. I mean that would really decrease the value per pair lol. And yeah, how many people taking charity shoes will have a shoe size of like 16 or something?

As for Wade, I think his Converse shoes suck. I've bought them twice, two different styles, and they tear so easy and the grips do run out really fast. They were cheap though so I had to get them.

Actually, it took me a whole month to wear them out completely, they were showing signs after 1-2 weeks...Wade plays so hard he does that in a half? Or is he just being cautious?
