http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUZMxeWybGY A jogging atheist takes on Christianity in Sproul Plaza, UC Berkeley! Should we put Christians in jail for believing in a discriminatory religion? Do you see the irony? Lots of profanity. Viewer discretion advised.
I see the irony in posting a YouTube video of an idiot to generalize tens of millions of people. I'm betting that could be done about Christians pretty quickly.
He said the Disney Company is responsible for fewer deaths than organized religion. Bold statement, sir.
Congratulations. You are a moron! Also, if you want to talk about semantics this is someone ATTACKING Christianity. Not DEFENDING Atheism.
That we should be afraid of open democracy, religious pluralism, Bauhaus architecture and modern art, I guess. I tried watching the video and got a "removed by owner" so I can't really comment on the video itself.
I wouldn't put much stock in this video. Things like this are a regular occurrence in Sproul Plaza. It was the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement.
Perhaps rather than expect people to "defend" a belief system, we should simply acknowledge our differences and call it a day. Perhaps we would all be better off if people stopped trying to prove their moral and/or intellectual superiority over others by virtue of their beliefs regarding a supreme being. This goes for people of faith and atheists alike. Christians speaking to atheists as though they are morally inferior is not very Christian.
Much more important things in life to focus our energy on, such as cultivating a nice home garden, smoking a tasty brisket, or brewing some of your own beer.
I just do not understand why some people are so insistent on dictating how other people live their lives.
