I post this thinking it's a foregone conclusion that we are bringing back Yao. (for better or worse) So .....how much capspace do you think we'll get hit with? I'd like to think 2 million but for SOME reason I gotta believe we're talking 5- 6.
I will guess a base salary of about $3 million together with incentives out the ying-yang. Under this sort of contract, if he were to resume starters minutes of about 33-38 minutes a game and produce statistically like he did when he was at the top of his game, he might bring in 15-20 million dollars a year. However, if he gets injured during pre-season and is out for the year, he would get the $3 million. What he brings to the team from a marketing perspective with the Chinese fans is easily worth more than that. It may sound like a lot, but really, this is a no-brainer.
I am pretty sure this isn't allowed in the CBA. I think incentive laden contracts in general a problem.
Why talk mess about yao wen hes the only Rocket that loves the rockets as much as we do and how is it a faiulure if we would of never had yao we would of never had all those years of makin the playoffs and staying a little bit relevent
I kida want him to retire and join the rockets staff as a development type person. He could help out our big men, Jordan hill/Patrick Patterson and hopefully deandre Jordan
