While the general consensus of the board after the draft has been to re-sign Maurice Taylor, but how much is he worth?

Is he asking for the max next year?

In my opinion, we should sign him to a two year deal worth 5-6 per year, and then award him with the Bird rights if necessary. I'm sorry, it'd be stupid to pay Maurice THAT much money I think. I like his game, but he's not a max player.

He knows that he won't make the max. He will make around the $6-7 million a year mark.

Shoot, I'd say 6-7 the first year, and it escalates each year ... I dunno how many years he wants to sign for, though.

I would give him the same contract that we gave Cat. He is not as good but big men receive premiums in the NBA. I think it is 6 yr, 30 million.

He will get more than Mobley because he is a big man. Shooting guards are not as hard to find.

Bernie, problem is that we can't sign him to over $4.5m (Middle Class Exception) until we sign or release Dream. I have a feeling that Dream won't negotiate quickly unless we approach a salary that he likes ($7m at least).

Anything over $4.5m is going to have to come from pure capspace (which we don't have right now).
