I have digital cable, and thus far I've been able to get by on the free previews. They keep telling me that if I call I'll get $20 off, but they never say what the price is. And I know if I call, they'll be that added pressure thrumming through the line, and I'll cave no matter what the price.

It like when the police or fire department calls, or even mothers against drunk driving, even when the percentage that goes to MADD is like 14%, I cannot say no. They just want it more. It's like I'm the (old) Kelvin Cato of telemarketing.

I wish they just would have posted the price.

Normal cost here is $169 but there is an early bird for $159 this week only.

It's worth every penny. I live in NJ and missed the Rocket games until last year. When I lived in Houston, I either watched or listened to every game.

    League Pass is the best.

Do you have to have digital cable to get the League pass? Or can you have regular cable and get it?

The game will not be on League Pass tonight but according to San Antonio the game will be broadcast on the Fox Sports Network. Living in Austin you should be able to get the game, of course you will have to put up with the biased courtside reporting of the Spurs broadcasters.

I have another question about League Pass. This is the first season I'm doing this, and I was wondering how often Bill and Calvin are calling the games? For instance, lets say the Rockets are playing the Lakers. Is the game that is shown going to be taken from the Lakers broadcast channel or from the Rockets broadcast channel? Or are they sometimes going to have both feeds? I'm really curious about this. I hate having to listen to other announcers. Thanks in advance.

League pass switches it up but sometimes if league pass is carrying the other teams feed you can still catch the Rockets broadcast on Fox Sports Network. What I do when I have to watch another teams feed is to usually just tune into the game coverage on the radio over the internet while a watch the TV on mute.

I think in Tucson we can get it via digital or regular cable via the box. The quoted rate/plan was the same as verse said for SA, $20 of regular.
I had the wires installed in my house for satelite through a home-run system or going with cable. Right now I am using cable. League Pass is $20 cheaper on cable versus Direct TV (I didn't know you could get it via DSS) but with standard cable I'll nead to rent the box for like $3.50 so cost is pretty much the same. One of these days I switch to satelitle, but I want to see what happens with DSS-Direct TV merger and have more time to think about it. I'll have get a roof antenna too if I go with Cable as well--it is more upfront cost, and more importantly, time to think about it. Probably I'll switch before football season next year.

I just got league pass a few days ago(digital), hopefully it will be worth it.
I have a few questions though:

    1. About how many games does NLP show the Rockets?(I'm dissapointed because I can't watch the game tonight.) Any reason NBA League Pass isn't showing the Rockets?
    2. How many NBA channels should I have? ....I have 10, but for some reason, that doesn't seem like I'll see many games.
    3. Which is better: Digital or DirecTV?

    Any answers will be appreciated!

    1. League Pass will show all of the regular season games but some will come from the other teams feed which means you may have to put up with announcers that are biased against the Rockets.

    2. It depends on how many games are on that night and if one of the games are on TNT or NBC. You will have access to all of the games though.

    3. I have DTV and its the only way to go in my book.

    another DTV question...

i ordered League Pass, but I'm rarely home before 11 p.m.
I'm going to have to tape most of the games, meaning I'll have to set my VCR before I leave my house every morning.

is there a set channel that Rockets games will be on? (in the 740's, right?) Or will I have to check the schedule every morning for the Rockets station... and where can I check the daily DTV schedule for games?

    thanks in advance

There is no set channel for Rockets games, but the schedule is normally posted on the same channels that show the games once the games are over.

I really wish I could have NBA league pass here in Germany!! Technically, it shouldn't be a problem...but they don't offer it here... :(
