How much do you spend a month on tolls?

I spend $4 a day, going and coming back from work. so if i work 20 days a month, thats $80. I need to move.

 

I spend about $6.00/month on tolls living in Austin. I love my TxTag...

 

I haven't payed a toll in about 6 years.

 

I dont use it. I always thought about getting one of those ez tag things for when I am really in a rush to go to work, but I thought about it and I would just end up using it everyday and spending a lot of money that I shouldnt be spending.

 

I never use the toll roads. I just moved back to Houston a few months ago and work is 2 miles from home.

However, when I lived in Dallas I took the toll road daily. Probably spent about $40 a month on it

 

I take the Westpark Tollroad to and from work, Galleria to Katy. My wife uses it for work from time to time (she is a realtor so she works all over). We average $200 a month...yeah it sucks!

You'd rather sit in an hour of traffic than pay $4 for 25 minutes?

 

Ultimately that's asking how much you'd pay for better sleep hours.

 

Honestly, sometimes I'll suck it up and pay it, but I really hate doing it. Why pay for something that's free elsewhere?

Slightly off-topic- Beltway 8 should be free now. It's already paid for itself, but instead of being free (which was the plan, IRC), there's a company that maintains the tollways and makes a profit.

 

I spend ~$100 per month in tolls. BUT, I save approx. 3/4 tank gas per week (~$50 per tank) not sitting in stop-go traffic. Net savings: ~$50.

 

Does anyone know if there are any true differences between EZ Tag and TX Tag?

I live in Houston but I see that TxTag only requires a minimum of $20 to sign up with, and it appears the tag is free. It also lets me sign up on their website and have it mailed plus it supports all toll systems in Texas.

EZ Tag seems to support all the tolls in Texas but from my understanding (their website sucks), you need to sign up with a minimum of $40 and there's a fee for the tag.

Any Houstonians using TxTag?

 

When I lived in Houston, and finally adjusted the Garmin, it was almost nothing.
