A 24 Hour Fitness is opening near us and they claim to be offering a great deal on Phase 1 pricing: $22 for me and $18 for my wife. This is for a single gym membership with no pool and potentially no sauna (they are still building). They offered to waive a couple of other fees and just have a $49 initiation and first plus last month. So is this a good deal or not? Tell me what you are think and what you pay.
I have about the same thing. 22 bucks a month. Get access to basically everything. After a couple years, the price drops to 12 bucks a month. I didn't pay any intiation fee but that's because I signed up for 3 years.
$17.00/month at Express Fitness in Coppell. Actually, it was $19/month for the primary account and $15/month for my fiancee', so it averages out to a mere $17...
I paid for 3 yrs in advance and broke it into several payments I think this is the best way to do it because now I only pay 107 a year If you cannot do that then 40 bucks for the both of you is pretty good My friend pays that for himself alone Rocket River

Compare to most of yours, our rates are on the high side, although when our family first joined we only pay $375/yr (a really good deal). I see 24 Hour Fitness offers five different types of clubs: EXPRESS™, ACTIVE®, SPORT®, SUPER SPORT™, and ULTRA SPORT™. IMO, the facilities and features in our community center are somewhere between the Super and Ultra type of 24 Hour Fitness. If possible, could you also indicate what type of fitness club yours is?
I pay 40 bucks a month for basic membership at 24hr. Then I pay $175 a month for my private club membership.
Is anyone part of a fitness center with indoor tennis? I'm looking to join one but for the most basic package that will allow you to play tennis. I'm too spoiled with indoor sports that it's hard for me to play outside but if the price is wrong I have no problem with building up my endurance again.
The University Club is an all indoor tennis club. Its on the top floor of the Galleria. Also there is another Fondren Tennis Center on Fondren.
I pay 75.00 for a nationwide family membership to the YMCA. It seems high but we actually save money by being members. I have two kids that go to the after-care at their school. Non-members pay 400.00 (for 2) and members pay 300.00. So we pay 375.00 , save 25.00, and get a seemingly free membership out of it. I go to the (I-would-think-soon-to-be-renamed) Ken Lay Y and it is a pretty nice facility.
$75/year at the local public fitness center. It's not a Balley's or 24 hour, but you can't beat the price. Looking at my gut, you can tell I haven't been in a while, though.
