Let me start by saying that I really love this core and that Rockets may be something special this year. However, I was thinking of something, how much are you attached to this current young core? In what scenario would you be able to justify trading away Harden and/or Howard and/or Parsons? Hypothetically speaking, would you trade: 1) Harden+Howard for LeBron+x? 2) Harden+Howard for Rose+Noah+Butler+x? 3) Harden for Durant? Can you think of a scenario where you would accept to butcher this core while maintaining a fair trade for both parties involved?
3 is a no brainer. 2 as well, but in the other direction, no way would I do that trade. 1 is interesting, and I would probably go for it, for the simple fact, that everyone wants to play with LeBron and he is just so good. But make no mistake, outside of LeBron and Durant I wouldn`t trade any of our two stars for any other player.
There are only 2 players worth more than Howard and Harden in my eyes, and they are Durant and Lebron. Everyone is else is equal or worse.
Why would you do 2? Rose is coming off a serious injury and Noah certainly is no Howard. He basically would just become the Bulls with Parsons being Deng. Only one I'd do is 3. Not doing the others because I'm not trading two superstars for one. Lebron is great, but his age is climbing and I'm not really sure... It's just that if Dwight goes back to playing in his Orlando days, we really do have a shot at a dynasty with this team. So I think our core is as good as any other.
Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard? Let's just stop. That team would slaughter Miami. Kevin Durant has 3 years left on his contract. Let's hope for 3 years of disappointment and mediocrity in OKC so he at least thinks about it. Harden would be 27 and Dwight would be 30. HNNNNG.
How about we wait until this core plays some regular season games first before discussing this? That will give us some time to evaluate who plays well together and who doesn't fit. Hopefully they will all fit but sometimes you get a good player (ie Pippen) and it just doesn't work out.
Ah yeah, completely skipped over that 'In the other' direction part. Yeah, that does favor Chicago way too much, that is basically a steal. We'd be Chicago West. Although the Bulls are not a bad team, they are just so reliant on what Rose does.
He said it's a no-brainer "the other way around" dude. Basically Bulls would definitely go for it, but there's no way the Rockets would. We all seem to agree.
Read the post before yours. And I would do the third one, but id like to see them play an actual game other than the preseason
I wouldn't trade Dwight for anyone. Would only trade Harden for Lebron or Durant. The only way to beat Lebron is with a dominant centre.
I like our team no thanks. Now if someone wants to make us an offer on asik, beverly, lin, or even parsons I am all ears. For now harden and howard are untouchable.
