How much emergency cash do you keep in your wallet? I keep about $100 in twenties and ones just in case the vendor does not accept my credit card.
I try and keep at least a bill. As a matter of fact, Ive had a 100 dollar bill folded up behind my drivers license for about a year now. Most of the time I use debit cards unless its under 10 dollars.
I am deathly afraid of identity fraud and use cash exclusively except for major purchases (over $1K) so i usually carry just enough cash to cover my nut for whenever I leave the house... and I keep a good amount of cash at the house to draw from - so I'm not always at the ATM...
My brother gets pissed I don't give any cash to my nephews... guess what, I gots no cash on me to give my own KIDS, much less to yours, brother.
i don't like wallets. i use an oakley lens bag to hold my cards and cash. it's the perfect size to hold several cards and a wad of cash. plus, it's got a little pull cord to tighten. i usually start out with $100 and, when that dwindles, I hit refresh. No sense in carrying around more than that...especially with debit cards. I remember back in the 80s my friend's Dad use to carry hundreds or even a few thousands dollars in bills around in his wallet. Suffice to say, he never knew how much he carried...just a lot. So, he was an easy target for his son to lift bills while he sat in the hot tub. It gave us some opportunities to do stuff we ordinarily wouldn't be able to do.
used to be lucky to have a few bucks, always used debit cards. But now I moved to Nac, none of my banks are up here so I carry $50-100.
I usually have at least a hundred on a money clip in a front pocket, and a couple of twenties in my wallet for "emergencies." I typically use my wallet just for credit cards and the like.
I carry no cash. If I do need cash, I pull some out and deposit the remainder when I'm done with the cash transactiton. My bank (USAA) reimburses for all ATM fees, so there's just no reason to routinely carry cash for me.
in Houston less than 50 bucks when im in NYC like 200 cash is king here and bars are so expensive that a dollar a drink tip is less than 20% while in the H you run a tab and tip 20% because drinks are so cheap NYC 7 dollar beer times five = 35 bucks so a dollar a tip saves two bucks In the H 3 bucks a beer time five = 15 bucks and a three dollar tip on the credit card so you save two bucks that way
