a regular season question...assuming we have the same team as we have right now, and the we are totally healthy (include bonzi), how many games does everyone think we will win? how many will we win on the road?
win 55 should be the goal - minimum. prob go after 60. but so many variables possible with the new coach and his Offensive Schemes (note CAPS for O and S)!!
I do not think the roster will be to very similar to what it is now, but if it was with Bonzii they would probably top out at around 55.(with good health)
Yao is going to break his leg and end his career, then Tmac is going to come out of the closet and join John Amechi on a gay parade marathon, then Vspan is going to join Al Qaeda with Jeff Van Mohammed(JVG's third cousin). After they're all gone John Lucas is going to undergo the "Leg Expansion" procedure in which doctors break both his legs, then expand them and let the bone regrow in between. Upon John Lucas 3 doing this, he will come back around All Star Break just in time to show off his slam dunk skills as he has grown from 5'11" to 7'3". Rick Adelman will use Bonzi wells to be the head of a new Fast Food franchise which will increase our owners money to spend, allowing us to infiltrate the NBA system with bribes and threats, getting us Greg Oden from the Trailblazers in a promise that we won't kill Darius Miles, but we do anyways, to the joy of the world. Our record will be 73-9 by the end of the year, once we get to the playoffs Shane Battier's head will be 10 times larger blocking all the vision of the opposition, giving us instant victories. When we reach the NBA Finals we will have to play the Maine Supersonics who's star player Mouhamed Sene will be shut down by Shane's head in the first game. But Shane's head gets popped by a dirty lobster fisher in Maine so we lose the edge. By then we sign Stan Van Gundy and Ron Jeremy to 10-day contracts, we don't put names on the back of their jerseys so players get confused and don't know who is who and who has the different abilities. In the end our deception gives us the win and we use the NBA Championship ball as a replacement skull for Shane Battier. So i say we go 73-9
^^^Back to reality, i expect a slow start. there ill be a adjustment period for the players to fully grasp the motion offense. i say we hit on all cylinders post the allstar break and the playoffs.
42 wins for an 8th seed vs Dallas (I want to say Phoenix, but Kerr is their GM). Then we'll have a Cinderella post season of numerous game 7's to make it to the Finals.
how so? we're a lock (even if yao misses another 30 games). we should get a higher seed even if he stays healthy. i dont think dallas can be any better. terry showed signs of slowing down. same w/ stack. and dirk well is just dirk. suns for all we know is a great reg. season team. we shouldn't fear them ever of winning the whole thing. spurs are a team that will still dominate for another 2-3 yrs. jazz should be up there but we can beat them. the rest are a level below us.
Wins=entertainment man... Points and running are for the ladies. I bet the new scheme Rockets start off strong due to unpredictability. But struggle midway. Opposite from JVG coached teams.
The Answer depends on how clever and how free thinking Morey is when he consults his data board. This team which could have 9 or 10 playing players might find four or five of them as first year Rockets. Depending if we geta star player and a couple of fillins or we get four or five decent players. I expect a mixture of youth, athleticism and experience which should begin to gel about the end of the first month. Last year the team seemed to be able to win 60 games. I am going with the same number again. If we can't win 60 games, there isn't much hope of a conference final in the west.
