    A round of golf?

The Stache recently has become a fan of the patient game...however my patience is really low right now.

I busted out my 3rd way over 100 and way over par series at Hermann Park much to the laughs of my golf buddies who constantly hit 20 or more under me.

How do I get better? I am tired of being terrible. I may quit and stick to basketball.

The most important thing to remember: Golf is 90% mental and 10% mental.

Stick a tee in your ear and tie your left shoe in a double knot.

Why are you referring to yourself in third person?

If you seriously want to get better, sign up for a series of 5 or 6 lessons with a decent teaching pro.

If you practice with a bad swing, you'll only get good at hitting a decent shot every now and then with a bad swing. You may even learn to score somewhat decently with your terrible swing, but you'll hit a floor fairly quickly.

If you have a pro set you up with decent fundamentals and mechanics, you can the practice the heck out of your new swing and you'll actually get decent.

With a good grip, decent fundamentals, and a few times at the range (and putting green) you can probably shave off 10 strokes pretty quickly.

After that every stroke is hard earned to take off your score.

It helps if you can see what your own swing looks like. I remember when I took lessons, the pro would record my swing at different angles and place it side by side with some PGA player. That way, you can see what mechanics you have to tweak. The difference between how your swing feels and how it actually looks can be pretty drastic.

Once you know what to fix, there's tons of drills you can do to fix certain problems with your swing.

    Basically, get lessons.

I stick to the PGA games on Wii, which btw I kill almost every single time.

I don't have the patience for a real game of golf, unless it's at the driving range, that one is fun.

Leroy loves playing golf and he's quite terrible at it. Leroy's best round is 103, and he's pretty sure there were some penalty strokes he could have taken...

    ok...enough of that.

I never get pissed playing golf. I'm outside, with friends, typically having beers and playing golf. What's there to get pissed about? I'm not playing in tournaments. I don't bet on it. I'm not looking to go pro. I'm lucky if I get to play 2 or 3 rounds a year. So, when I do get out there, I enjoy it as much as humanly possible.
