Just curious. I keep on reading about people who are very gungho towards world conflicts so I thought that maybe it would be interesting to know how many of them ever served time in the military that they are so anxious to send against the foreign devils.

A more appropriate question is how many people here lost loved ones in the September 11th terrorist attacks. I keep on reading about people who are very much against war that are so anxious to let the foreign devils develop weapons of mass destruction that ultimately will find their way to the US or other westernized countries and kill thousands of innocent people.

When I refer to foreign devils I am using sarcasm.

You're assuming that I'm anti-war, which I am not. I fully support wars where the administration will publicly say that we're going to war to stabilize the world's largest oil producing region and that WMD and human rights abuses are very secondary concerns.

I fully support the war on terrorism, which we seem to have put on the backburner in case you haven't noticed.

Some would say there is a strong connection with a pending war on Iraq and the war on terrorism...

    Heretic,
It has been firmly established in other threads that we cannot use the term "pro-war." I believe the preferred terms are (your choice): "pro-peace except for just this once," or "pro anti-terrorist preventative action." Just FYI.

Iraq has been linked to Al Queda, yes. Please review the notes of Colin Powell's speech. Oh right, you don't believe Colin Powell because you're a democrat and anything the Bush Administration says is obviously wrong and/or fabricated. Al Queda has publicly stated their support for Iraq, and would be willing to accept weapons of mass destruction from Iraq.

Just because government actions are not forefront in the media does not mean nothing is happening. The media only reports what's sexy at the moment and a bunch of FBI and CIA guys eaves-dropping on telephone calls and researching money trails is not very sexy. There's a lot going on behind the scenes.

If the public were actually shown the evidence that backs up Powell's statement, more people might believe the statement. Talk is cheap. And where has AlQaeda "publicly stated their support for Iraq and would be willing to accept weapons of mass destruction from Iraq"?? Osama Bin Laden's last taped statement issued support for the Iraqi people but derided Saddam Hussein. How do you come to your conclusions?
