NVE will be as exciting of an addition as Charlie Ward was last year?

I don't think that we need to make any more additions, unless they are young guys, that can grow into a viable bench guy.

I posted this in the "STOUDAMIRE IS OUT" thread. it bears repeating.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
ugh, it seems people here don't want any PG for this team. no matter who we bring up, most people shoot it down.

jay williams is unproven and probably won't even play. damon was too short, old, and a bad defender. payton will ruin chemistry, is too old, can't shoot, can't defend. DA is just bad. spree is too, and old. etc, etc, etc...

what do you expect for the LLE? even the idea of damon or finley for that price didn't get the majority vote here.

not one PG in the league, outside of hinrich, would be the perfect fit here. all we have to offer is $1.67M to FA's and wesley, james, Jho, spoon in trade.we aren't getting hinrich, ridnaur, duhon, or jaric. the guys we would be lucky to get like watson, damon jones, cassell, and knight would probably all see the same critisism on the board. too short, can't shoot, can't play defense.

we should all be reminded that sura is to old and can't shoot. wesley is too short and can't guard big two's or quick one's. mike james will shoot MORE times than NVE if both were given the same minutes on our current roster. we still won 51 games with them.

How come people don't want NVE?

He's left handed. He can drive and finish. He know's how to pass to a big man. And he's a threat to hit the open 3. What else could Houston want in a pg? Yes he'll only be good form 25ish minutes a night but that is all they need

I would rather take a flyer on J-Will....than sign an older "prooven" player 1n the very end of their career....What is wrong with that?

Which is why I think we should stick with those guys unless someone younger and/or better becomes available. I don't think NVE fits that category. And I don't really think we're going to sign him personally.

Am I the only one here who would still be interested in Carlos Arroyo?

I think it's very possible that after 7 surgeries, a fractured hip, three torn knee ligaments, and nerve damage to his leg, Jason Williams could have comparably athleticism and explosiveness to Bob Sura.

How many of us think that

    a) descriptive thread titles beat non-descriptive thread titles and
    b) this could have gone in any of the current NVE threads?

    Well, I do think so.

I don't look at it quite the same. I think NVE might be a good short term (1 year) addition to test the possibilities of playoffs. With younger players, you're not quite sure what they can do. In that year, NVE's positive skills might rub off on younger players.

    And I don't mean jacking up 3's.

he isnt bad at all for the LLE. if he can pass it to the big man and hit the open three... he sounds like a pg we need. we dont really need that fancy of a pg, we just need ONE.
