How could it not be it seems as if every acquisition that Rudy has dreamt of he has gotten in the draft. Franchise was a steal and we should be greatful that he forced himself upon us, I love this guy (Wink3.com is a nice tribute). The last acquisition that I hope that we can make is to get Bostjan Nachbar with the other pick some how, either him or Woods although I think that I would rather have Nachbar.

The Rockets could have three potential superstars in the starting lineup next season in Steve Francis, Eddie Griffin, and Yao Ming. Add to that the all-star caliber Cuttino Mobley, and the distinct possibility of acquiring Lamar Odom, and you have a pretty solid team.

    Jev--

If Steve and Cuttino buy into the idea of having Yao as a Rocket, we could see something VERY special!! I'm still not sure they're happy with Yao coming to Houston. But I'd LOVE to be wrong about this!!

YES! A Super Team in the making, but no Odom.(To many negatives) Rugy needs to add Yoa Ming. Nachbar, a quality shooting Guard to back up Mobley. As well as a fit Rice, Cato,Griffin, Francis etc.
03 Playoffs 04 Western Final 05 Champions . It can be done if they all listen to the Coaches and play TEAM BASKETBALL.They must all be on the same page and its upto Steve Francis to make it so!

Odom said that he could'nt wait for the off-season, so he can improve on his game, and his off the court maturity. ( I don't think that is to many negatives.)
I thought the team was already pretty special. (kidding), but to answer your question, Yes. The Rockets are on the verge of greatness, and hopefully this team will soar to new hights..
    Go Rockets!! :)

If pretty soon means this season, I would agree. However, if you are talking about two years from now, I disagree. This team will not fail. Rudy T is a championship genius.

do any of you people watch basketball? the rockets need a complete revamp. first off, cuttino mobley is no where near a star player. he would be a good bench player, actually. all he does is shoot the ball. contrary to his original name of defensive stopper, he plays absolutely no defense (well, thats not true. francis plays no defense, so hes a step up). he takes the team completely out of the offense. francis could be a star in this league if he worked on his shot, cut down on turnovers, and stepped up his defense. griffin has potential, but based on what he did last year (which doesnt mean all that much), he does not have an inside game, nor can he defend. defense is not measured by the amount of blocks a player has. though its a factor, it is not the total picture. griffin needs to bulk up and needs to have some inside moves. as of now, he looks like robert horry used to look to me, except he doesnt really play defense. potential star, but isnt ever going to get there. griffin also needs to stop shooting 3's all day long. kelvin cato plays no defense, either. same type of thing: blocks shots (well, rarely for a '7 footer') and doesnt guard anyone. he is just a flatout awful player. id rather have maculloch, who at least tries. mo taylor, too, is a bad defender. he doesnt rebound at all. just takes girly jumpshots. glen rice is terrible, walt williams is terrible, oscar torres is terrible, jason collier is terrible. kenny thomas and the mooch are studs, but they are bench studs at best. so, in summing up our team, we have francis, some good bench players, potential roll players, shooters who think they are scorers, and a bunch of guys who play negative defense. this is not what makes a championship team. i dont know much about ming, but he sounds like he also will play no defense (block a couple shots), take little jump shots, and get pounded around. odom is a cancer. he, like everyone else, plays no defense. the last thing we need is another punk who is just trying to inflate his own numbers. he would be awful on this team (not as awful as glen rice). as it stands, we have some of the most talent in the league, one of the worst offenses in the league, and one of the worst defenses in the league. this all adds up to very bad. we definitely need to take an enforcer at 15. cross your fingers that stoudamire is there, since hilario will be gone. rockets suck for now, but they have a lot to work with via trades and draft picks. i wish they wouldnt screw it up by stickign with that they have, but you know they are going to. best case scenario would be to get rid of mobley, get a guard who could play defense, get a complementary 3 who can do a little bit of everything (hit the 3, grab some boards, handle the ball, play some d), a defensive force in the middle who can catch the ball and dunk, and someone who can rebound. this has no chance of happening. see you in the lottery next year......oh yeah, stop being so idealistic.

First of all, have you ever heard of a paragraph? Secondly, you couldnt be more negative if your life depended on it. Griffin is 20, 20!!!!! And look what he did? A helluva lot more then the other 19&20 year olds that have been in the league.

Griffin will grow into an outstanding player, Francis and Mobley are already a deadly backcourt, Odom will come in a be the SF that we have loned for, and Ming will hopefully kick ass. So why dont you try being optimistic about things instead of downing the entire roster? If your going to b**** like that, at least go to the ESPN boards......

I know this guy. He sat behind me at some of the Rocket games. No one could do anything right, and he knew it! (Rolling eyes face)

This lineup would get me very excited. Definately championship caliber if Ming turns out to be the real deal. We would also go from being one of the worst passing teams in the league to one of the best with the additions of Odom and Ming.
